Check Out Kristin Bural’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Bural.

Kristin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Within the branding and marketing industry, there is a tension between positioning businesses to succeed and manipulating the market to believe they need something they don’t. I’ve worked in the agency setting for six years and have always grappled with the ethics of my industry. After I got experience under my belt, I finally broke away from consumeristic branding.

I vowed to start a company that worked with companies and organizations that do good for the world. One of my core values is to only work with businesses I believe in, companies that have a mission to do good. From here, Soulbeam Studio was born. A branding + photography agency that positions passionate companies in a strategic way that makes their target market pay attention. That makes people believe in their cause. That actually changes the world. The joy and fulfillment that flows through every project I do is tangible.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I quit a toxic work environment back in October to pursue my calling, and I was prepared to live in scarcity until I built up my clientele. The opposite actually happened. I’ve attracted businesses that also believe in what I am doing, and they truly are my kind of people. A community of passionate, kind, other-minded business owners have enlisted my services so that their mission can successfully be declared to the world.

The only true struggle I’ve had as a business owner is that there are no days to be emotionally unavailable. If I am having a hard week, I cannot just mindlessly clock in and out of the office; I still have to nurture client relationships and meet pre-set deadlines. Luckily, I believe in the work I am doing, so my passion helps catalyze me through tough weeks.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am known for strategically positioning brands who are changing the world. I work on brand strategy, brand positioning, branding, photography, copywriting, web design, and collateral design for organizations and companies. I largely work with NGO’s, B-Corps, sustainable, ethical, and humanitarian businesses. My clients tell me over and over that, I am their biggest cheerleader and advocate. I help channel passionate ideas into formidable business plans and create visuals to reinforce the mission. I only work with people that I truly believe in.

My #1 StrengthsFinder is Strategic, and this is a cornerstone of my company. I differ from other designers because I can see the big picture – I only design assets that will convert to a ROI. I am well-rounded, detail-oriented, and I implement innovative, creative branding solutions.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I chose to move to Nashville four years ago because of its creativity. I knew that the Design industry would be respected because music, arts, fashion, and culture are respected. Creativity is celebrated, and I am an out-of-the-box strategic thinker.

The hardest part of living in Nashville is the pricing on housing, food, and entertainment. Because tourism is such a formidable industry, prices are inflated for tourists but affect residents as well. I am a huge advocate for supporting local, small businesses though, so ultimately my dollar still counts.

Pricing:

  • Branding (Including Brand Strategy): $3,000-$8,000
  • Photography: $1,500-$4,000
  • Web Design: $2,000-$8,000
