Exploring Life & Business with Andrew Denny

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrew Denny.

Andrew, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We began in 2004 as a small shop based in East Nashville. We focused our energy on building relationships and gaining the trust of our clients. As time passed, we discovered a “hole” in the market and began focusing on a niche, creating one-of-a-kind solutions for our clients with the motto “Flooring is Fashion.” Craft-made, small-batch products allow for complete customization and achieve the perfect flooring solution to create an indelible legacy in our clients’ homes and spaces. We now have a true identity that’s not only loved by our clients but brought a lot of joy to our business because we are able to be creative.

In between floor installations in luxury homes and Nashville hot spots such as Greenery Co., The Twelve Thirty Club, or The Russell Hotel, you may find me in the podcast booth within the Textures showroom in the Nashville Design Collective. Couture & Construction is a process-driven podcast that breaks down the luxury side of construction. We interview some of the most notable talents in the design and build industry through conversations that aim to inspire, educate and strengthen the industry. The mission behind the podcast is dual. One is to provide a peer-to-peer resource for people that are in this community. The second is to provide an educational tool to help our listeners manage their journey of a design or luxury build project with better perspective & understanding.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like all things, there have certainly been some ups and downs. The best part of the journey has been being part of a team and doing something that is fun. We help build beautiful places and that is very rewarding. It is also very interesting to see others invested in a vision that I really believe in. That said, there have certainly been struggles along the way. Most notably is whenever you miss expectations, whether with a client or a team member. Everything is always personal, and conflict, although healthy, is always taxing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We design high-end, one of a kind, hardwood flooring, millwork, and custom area rugs. Our materials are installed in the finest homes in the South, along with some of the most iconic public/commercial buildings in our area. Our materials are one of a kind and we work with some of the top interior design firms in the country to create their vision for the custom foundation of their design. Additionally, our team is committed to service, communication, and excellence and we love to create and solve problems.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
We are in the Nashville Design Collective. Although we typically work with interior Designers, Luxury builders, Architects, and other trade professionals, we would love to have you in for a visit to our showroom. We can help anyone find just the right material for their project and value sharing information and helping educate. You can also listen to our podcast, Couture and Construction, to learn more about the luxury building and design industry. Connect with us on Instagram @textures_nashville or @couture_and_construction to see and learn more about our business and podcast.
