Meet Stephanie Thompson of Sinta Beauty Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Thompson.

Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in the Philippines and came to America when I was about 3 years old. My mom is Filipino, and my dad is American. My sister, brother, and I lived in the Philippines with my mom while my dad worked here in America to fly us back to live with him. We were destitute in the Philippines and even when we moved to the states. When we moved to America, I remember living in an 18-foot camper with my parents and siblings. My dad worked hard and went back to school in his 40’s. He graduated top of his class and later became an engineer. My mom became a citizen and is so proud to be an American.

I say all of this because I come from a background where you work hard to make your goals/dreams come true.

Growing up, I always wanted to be a nurse. It brings me joy to help others. We support a church in the Philippines and try to visit as much as we can. As a nurse, I jumped from pediatrics to dermatology. I enjoyed pediatrics but soon had children of my own and felt I was always bringing home germs. I decided to move on to dermatology because I have always been interested in skincare. I was also doing a lot of bridal makeup on the side.

Although I learned a lot from my job as a nurse in dermatology, it was a 9-5 job, and I felt I was missing out on my children. I decided I wanted to be my own boss.

My husband’s grandfather owns a few buildings, and one came open for rent. It was the perfect opportunity for me. I went back to school to obtain my esthetics license and started remodeling my new shop.

I have been taking in clients for almost 4 months now. I feel so blessed to say that I have been super busy. The support from a small town is just amazing. I meet the sweetest people, and I truly believe that this is where God wants me to be.

My business name is Sinta Beauty Esthetics. I wanted to incorporate my Filipino background. “Sinta” is an old-fashioned word for “my love.” “You are altogether beautiful, MY LOVE, there is no flaw in you”- Song of Solomon 4:7

“Dreams don’t work unless you do.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started esthetician school during COVID, so that was interesting, to say the least. I was lucky to do school at home for a couple of months,

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sinta Beauty Esthetics?
At Sinta Beauty Esthetics, I offer facials, body treatments, lash extensions, lash lifts, brow lamination, waxing, and makeup application.

I am so proud of my little business. I was worried at first about having little ones and trying to go back to school. I have a wonderful family that has helped me every step of the way.

I want people to know that they CAN start their own business and be their own boss. Invest in yourself and your future.

Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I am always open to collaborating with others. I would love to get with other estheticians and do little events. Support means so much. Whether people like/share my post or book a service. It is truly appreciated.
