Inspiring Conversations with Meleah Haley of YKTV Mobile Bartending Services

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meleah Haley. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Our owner Meleah Haley is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduating from The Illustrious Tennessee State University, she saw that there was a need for more female black-owned businesses in the Music City, so she created her own mobile bartending business.

With over five years of experience, she envisioned a service that had the ability to cater to ALL people. So, she gained the knowledge and the resources necessary to make her vision a reality. Now, our end goal at YKTV (You Know the Vibes) is to curate the perfect vibe for your special day. Whether it is a corporate event, a retirement party, a wedding reception, or a different private occasion, we have you covered.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, but it has definitely been rewarding. I was only nineteen when I started Bartending in the nightclub industry. With that being said, I was intimidated due to me being so young within the industry for decades before me.

Although I have always been the youngest in this environment, I always sought out knowledge. I always wanted to improve in any way possible, so I constantly asked questions and shadowed other bartenders.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
YKTV is the first youngest female black-owned Mobile Bartending company in Nashville, Tennessee. Here at YKTV, we specialize in servicing events from weddings, graduation parties, corporate events, etc. Starting, I was known for selling light-bulb cocktails. Customers would refer to me as the “Lightbulb lady,” this was my first stride to beginning my own Mobile Bartending business.

Being that I launched my business during the Pandemic and succeeding set me apart from my competitors simply because I was constantly changing how I could reach my audience virtually through social media.

I take pride in knowing that this business started as an idea from a 19-year old Sophomore at Tennessee State University from Cincinnati, Ohio. Now that restrictions have been lifted, YKTV Mobile Bartending Services is accepting bookings at yktvmobilebartending.com.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.?
Surprisingly, my notes app is my favorite of them all. I faithfully note my daily tasks and finances within my notes, and it has been very beneficial for me. While I’m working on paperwork and research, I enjoy listening to Sarah Jakes Podcast on youtube.
