Meet Amanda Adams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Adams.

Hi Amanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Let’s go all the way back…… My father was in the army and we moved a lot. I enjoyed setting up my room with each new move, I would sit with my notebook and sketch out a floor plan with all the furniture to scale. I had no clue that Interior Design was a viable career option at the time, I just found it comforting to create a beautiful space.

I moved to Nashville six years ago, I was a stay-at-home mom who taught herself how to build furniture so I could make a little extra cash for fun money. I would drop of a custom table for a client and people started asking about chairs, paint colors, drapes, lighting so I just slowly started progressing into design work. I started small, I only took on one client at a time, I tried to remember all the basics from design school. My clients were thrilled and started referring me, I only worked off referrals until last April. Covid changed my path, with so many people stuck at home I started offing E-design. It went really well, business continued to pick up and now I run a full-time business with employees.

My next big goal is to open a home décor/furniture/ design storefront. We have so many people moving to Nashville who needs help settling into their new home, I would love to be a one-stop shop for anyone who wants to create a beautiful functional space.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s never a smooth road, I face challenges daily, from material delays, labor shortages, missing shipments, and days that are never long enough. I just feel really blessed to be doing that work so I take the struggles as a learning opportunity.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
