Meet Allee-Sutton Hethcoat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Allee-Sutton Hethcoat.

Hi Allee-Sutton, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
My mother worked as a model beginning in her twenties and throughout my childhood. My Dad worked full time and we used to go on bookings with my mom as kids and we all wanted to work as well so my other siblings and I signed with her agency and worked as a family and independently. I’ve truly loved having the chance to be creative and work in my industry for my entire life. It’s cool now as an adult to get to work with people who remember me from the time, I was a toddler. I only took a break from the entertainment industry in middle school, then picked back up in high school, and haven’t stopped since. I feel so grateful for the incredible creative community here in Nashville and have been fortunate to enough to be a part of some really special projects here at home and in the Southeast.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’d be lying if I said it has been a smooth road. I’m grateful to have been the beneficiary of my mother’s experiences. I know she saved me a lot of the time and effort required in understanding how the business works and in building a network. That being said, the nature of what we do as creatives is fraught with rejection that can be really difficult to not take personally, body shaming, harassment, and general negativity. There have been so many times I have felt defeated or wanted to give up. The support of my family and friends has kept me going and helped me develop tenacity and resilience. If they hadn’t believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself, I might have given up! I am so glad I’ve kept on. I’ve learned a lot along the way, but most importantly I’ve learned just to love the process and to relentlessly believe in goodness and abundance!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an actor, model, and on-air host! I think the thing that makes me the most proud is that I have built and am continuing to cultivate a community of like-minded creatives who can all network and help each other. There truly is enough room for everyone at the table. I love seeing friends collaborating and growing! I like to think my specialty is creating uplifting content that fosters community. I love manifesting that in any way I can, whether it be through creating YouTube videos, acting in uplifting films, shooting campaigns for companies I admire, or hosting events for a great cause!

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I think it has just reinforced (really powerfully) the correlation between life’s frailty and its preciousness. Health and time are our greatest currency and sadly, scarcity makes us understand their value in a way few other things can. I think Covid universally made us all confront what is really important on a day-to-day basis by forcing us to slow down. Now I am taking better care of my body, spending more time with friends and family, and trying to do more to help others.
