Hidden Gems: Meet Ta’Liyah Franklin of Liyah’s Lips Beauty

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ta’Liyah Franklin.

Hi Ta’Liyah, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi everyone this is Ta’Liyah the CEO and owner of Liyah’s Lips. I started my business when I was 8 years old, I would always play in my mother’s makeup. I wanted to start my own business to inspire other like minded kids like my self. When I started making my product I always wrote in a notebook. One day my mom saw me actually writing in my notebook and got serious with the business, and turned those journal entries into business plans, we started adding more products to the business in 2019. Now we have vegan, cruelty-free Lip Gloss, virbant 5-free nail polish, shampoo, conditioner, and hair growth oil.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Over the past few years, it has been really smooth. Every since the pandemic started orders have been slowing down, it was hard getting products from my vendors to fill orders and to stay stocked. Also, another struggle sometimes is the lip gloss, the lip gloss takes a lot of time to make but remember I make it by hand for all my supporters.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Liyah’s Lips Beauty Co, LLC?
You should know that all my social media names are Liyah’s Lips Beauty Co, LLC. We are not just a business but together we are a brand. I’m an 11-year-old CEO and entrepreneur. In my business Liyah’s Lips, I hand make lip gloss, nail polish, shampoo, conditioner, and hair growth oil. I am known for being one of the youngest children in the cosmetics business world. I’m one of the smartest kids in my class. I’m most proud of my lip-gloss because that product is what I started with and I still have it ’till this day in many different flavors. All I want is for you guys and girls to believe in yourself and never give up, remember I’m just a little girl trying to change the world.

How do you define success?
I define success as reaching a goal or accomplishing a task while inspiring other’s.
