Conversations with Bailie Koveleskie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailie Koveleskie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I had a dream of becoming a photographer for over 7 years and last October, I decided I was finally going to go for it and my husband gave me the ok to buy a camera.

I practiced a lot with my kids and friends and got the hang of it. I wanted to pursue my dream pretty quickly, so I invested in myself very early on. I took a mentorship with an amazing, well-known photographer (Mackenzie Pudenz Photography) in Phoenix, AZ in May of 2021, and it completely changed my business for the better.

I am constantly trying to better myself for my clients and my family. I can’t wait to see where this business takes me in the next 5 years.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it’s been smooth for the most part but the struggle with photography is getting your name out there. As a military spouse too, we are only in one spot for 3 years so starting my business in a city that I don’t know anyone has been the biggest challenge.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a lifestyle photographer, which means I photograph your family to tell your story. I try to keep posing at a minimum, I love the shots of your family interacting with each other whether it’s cuddling, playing, running, kissing, hugging, and all of the above. I want to capture it in your photos. I also photograph couples, maternity, kids, babies but my main thing is families. They are my favorite.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I moved out of my parents at 18 and moved into an apartment, while living there, we had three dogs, four ferrets, two sugar gliders, and a bearded dragon… LOL! I loved every bit of it too. One day, I will have another ferret, if my husband will allow it.
