Life & Work with Ashton Butler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashton Butler. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Ashton Butler is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Murray, Utah. He grew up listening to every genre of music from old country classics and old rock and roll, to modern-day pop and everything in between.

He started writing music at the age of 8 years old but has been playing guitar and singing since he was six. In 2015, He started getting into the studio and started producing some of his original content. In 2019, Ashton moved to Nashville Tennessee where he is playing live and recording as well as working on new music constantly.

As a singer/songwriter, he always keeps the famous quote by Pablo Picasso in mind. “ The idea is not to live forever, but to create something that will.”

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the biggest struggles that I have dealt with is mental health. A huge part of that deals with OCD and anxiety. That has been the biggest struggle for me along the way but once I was able to find the correct help, I was able to overcome it and now I can live and deal with it properly.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I mean focus as a musician is to not get pigeonholed into just one genre. I want to be able to share and convey messages through my songs in any way shape or form that fits.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I have been very lucky in a lot of situations as far as meeting the right people at the right time. It was kind of unlucky that a tornado and Covid hit right as I moved to Nashville but everything has a silver lining in everything has worked out in the end.
