Today we’d like to introduce you to Stashe Hensley.
Hi Stashe, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began as a freelance guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist from Columbus, OH. I traveled the country doing so and ended up in Nashville around seven years ago. I continued to do much of the same while living here and along the way, I married Jordan who is our lead vocalist. We play acoustic duo shows and we also surround ourselves with talented players and friends for our full band sets.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This business is riddled with countless setbacks. Some of the struggles in the early days were simply finding ways to play enough shows to support myself/gain experience. In Nashville, one of the great struggles is finding the will to keep going as the workload can be quite heavy. The gigs in this town are more difficult than any other place I’ve been. The hours are longer, and the expectations are higher.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the way our band maintains integrity in the way we treat each other, the people we work for, and the people we meet at shows. The music business is a rough one and we are challenged each day to be kind and respectful even when we might not receive the same treatment.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
To put it simply; resilience.
