Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Crosby.
Hi Madison, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Nashville after I graduated college. I wanted to come here for more opportunities. When I got here, I found the Nashville Aerial Center and Millennium Dance Complex and got to work. Nashville to me was a new start and a chance to work on my dreams.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. I have always struggled with my body and I have type one diabetes. Being a dancer, actor and aerialist requires a lot of physical strength that some days, I just struggle to find. Fighting the urge to give up is an everyday battle.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work is very broad. I am an actor, a dancer, and an aerialist. I got a degree in dance from Missouri State University before I moved here to Nashville. Here in Nashville, I have been training on the trapeze and in the dance studio.
I am proud of how far my training has come and how hard I’ve pushed myself since I moved to Nashville.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Any advice I have is to just start. Getting over the fear of “what if” is the biggest obstacle. Get out of bed, find the smallest sliver of motivation and just start. Because once you start, it’s because easier to keep going.
