Community Highlights: Meet Anthony Wolfe of Undiscovered Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Wolfe.

Hi Anthony, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
When I was in college, I wanted to work in the music business and I was writing songs. However, my life took a different turn. I was unable to find a job in the music business, and instead of blazing a trail of my own, I accepted a position in retail management. Shortly after, I got married and returned to school to be a teacher.

I have been teaching in Rutherford County for the past sixteen years. However, after a divorce and other losses in my life, I began searching for my passion again. That passion was always music. I began playing guitar again and going to writer’s nights to meet other songwriters. I was inspired by their stories and amazed by their talent. So, in December 2018, I launched Undiscovered Nashville to help promote those chasing their dreams.

On my website, I interview and write articles to share the stories of the pre-famous. In 2020, I chose to livestream on Instagram much of the year, which allowed me to build a greater following. This year, I have hosted a writer’s night called “pre-famous” to continue the growth of the brand.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new venture, there have been mistakes, but with each mistake comes knowledge. Most of the struggles have centered around learning how to gain more traffic to the website. There has been improving each year, but traffic is up 155% as of last week.

We’ve been impressed with Undiscovered Nashville, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Undiscovered Nashville began as a website with the purpose of helping independent singer/songwriters get discovered. The website provides an outlet for those artists to tell their stories. I wanted to do something different from other outlets like mine.

I love when our articles go deeper than surface-level information. Undiscovered Nashville also promotes new releases through social media. We also recommend new music to Radio SoBro, which is a internet radio station you can listen to on their website or through their app. The live shows at various venues help us to further our mission of promoting the incredible talent in Nashville and beyond.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The music industry is in continuous evolution. With that evolution, the need for artists to continue to find new ways to promote themselves will follow. It is essential that Undiscovered Nashville stays on top of that change to best accomplish our mission.
