Exploring Life & Business with Lisa Rose of Happy Zen Mama/Elevated Life Pro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Rose.

Hi Lisa, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story, like many others, is a story of survival. I was married to an abuser. He abused me financially, emotionally, mentally, sexually, and violently. After an attack that ultimately put him in jail for several months, I was able to break free, however, the abuse continued through the judicial system and through my daughter. I was left financially and spiritually devastated. I knew that I needed to rebuild my life and myself, so I started exploring franchise opportunities. All of them require a minimum of $75000 startup fee, which, of course, I did not have. Plus, none of them felt like a good fit for me. I decided to investigate how to go about starting my own little business. Google was my best friend. I researched and asked questions. At first, I started as a drop-ship website and quickly realized that was definitely not for me! The product quality was not up to my standards, and the shipping time was too long. I learned a few things from that experience and decided that I wanted to sell American-made products. I did more research. I found a small “booth” at a co-op. I signed the lease and I bought some products. CBD was my primary focus, however, I added other products that I believed complimented that. I worked hard on my little space. I had a vision, and I knew exactly how I wanted it to look and feel. It was welcoming and joyful and fun. I was finally ready to open and had planned a Grand Opening ribbon-cutting ceremony and party. For March 20, 2020…. Needless to say, it never happened. So here I am with a space that I invested in and a lease that I am locked into and products I can’t sell, some of which had limited shelf life. I always believe that everything happens for a reason, whether or not we can see it at the time. During the shutdown, I decided to take some online courses to improve myself and my quality of life. I decided on Life Coaching. It opened my eyes in so many ways and I realized that this is what I was meant to do! And I am good at it! I took my experience and knowledge and turned my horrific, abusive past into a tool to help others. Also, during this time, I met some like-minded women in my new community. They helped me find an amazing location for my businesses exactly where I wanted to be! So now I am the proud owner of TWO businesses! Happy Zen Mama is a boutique gift shop featuring products made in the United States by women-owned small businesses. Feel-good products that make you smile, laugh, and bring joy into your home and life. Elevated Life Pro is my Life Coaching business. I am a certified Master Life Coach, focusing on happiness, life purpose, and goal success. Sometimes the road twists and turns, but if you stay the course, you will end up exactly where you are meant to be.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Happy Zen Mama/Elevated Life Pro?
Happy Zen Mama is a boutique gift shop. The vast majority of the products that I carry come from women-owned small businesses in the United States. Many of my makers are local. I like to know who they are and tell their stories to my customers. I love the personal connections. I support Domestic Abuse Awareness organizations and carry some products that do as well. I hold monthly “UnWINEd Wednesday” events that are typical classes to learn a fun new skill such as mixology, dough making, charcuterie boards, and pampering parties. Fridays are FriYAY Sip and Shop with complimentary wine. I hand out tiny wooden “pocket hearts” to everyone who comes in and send love out into the community. My motto is “Everyone leaves here with a smile”.

Elevated Life Pro is a goal-oriented life coaching service. I meet with clients and discuss their dreams and goals with them. Together we develop a strategy and a plan to execute that strategy. Usually, we meet weekly and set smaller goals that will ultimately lead them to achieving their dream goal.
