Hidden Gems: Meet Hita Revilla of Event Producer / Host / RRPP

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hita Revilla.

Hi Hita, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My full name is Hildamar Antonietta Revilla Galindez, but everyone knows me as “Hita,” which is why I decided to use it as part of my personal brand. I am 33 years old, and I am originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela; about 3 years ago, I arrived in Tennessee.

I am a Certified Public Accountant and Administrator, but nowadays, I work with events production, and I also help people achieve their projects and entrepreneurship. This began 9 years ago when I started creating spaces for entrepreneurs, organizing Bazaars, building a successful brand called “Tu Bazarcito.”

By the time I arrived in Tennessee, I was planning just a regular vacation to visit my sister Gabriela, and friends that worked as a producer in Miami offered me the opportunity to do a comedy event here in Nashville; I had many doubts about deciding, but I am a firm believer that when you are good at doing something, no matter where you are, you will always achieve it.

It was not easy to start, especially because I did not know anyone, not even the city. I did not know the language, and it wasn’t easy to communicate with venues and suppliers, but I succeeded. The event was a success, my sister Gabriela who is my partner, supported me a lot, and if it weren’t for her, I would not have done it.

With that event, I decided to stay in Tennessee because I discovered that the United States is a country of opportunities; the situation in my country hasn’t been and still is not the best, taking a toll on the events and projects I was developing.

I have participated in several Hispanic events as a producer; I am also a host, and I created a project to motivate and help entrepreneurs called “Café con proposito” (Coffee with a purpose). It has not been easy, I had a recognized professional career in my country, and coming to another country, where you do not know the language, the culture is totally different, and even the market is different, sometimes makes it difficult to start, but it is not impossible, I think that all these situations have made me the mature and confident woman that I have been so far.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been easy, I had a recognized professional career in my country, and coming to another country, where you do not know the language, the culture is totally different and even the market is different, sometimes it is difficult to start but it is not impossible, I think that All these situations have made me the mature and confident woman that I have been.

We’ve been impressed with Event Producer / Host / RRPP, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love my job, I love what I do, being an immigrant is not easy, but you always must to have clear goals and work for it, sometimes I have to work as a delivery person and I also love it, because I like to meet people, connect with people and that. I do it as long as I can live clearly from production, one of the things that differentiate me … is to motivate people in my community to believe in them and in their projects, because it is something that is not usually seen because I lived it When I was new here, nobody told me how I should do it or I guide myself and I want to help people make that path a little easier

What does success mean to you?
Success is the satisfaction of seeing a goal or project finished, to then continue and make other goals
