Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has been filled with peeks and valleys, triumphs and lessons. Overcoming poverty and sexual abuse as a child, failed relationships and marriage, battling emotional and mental trauma have been a few of my personal struggles. However, they have given me the proper perspective to inspire others to be resilient.

“To be a resilient walker is to walk through pain and heartbreak into joy and comfort, to proceed through trials and tears, to stop to smile and play, to withstand torment, to sing loudly, to be present, to show empathy, to withstand the evil in order to do the greater good. To be a resilient walker is to realize that the world is full of monsters with friendly faces and angels full of scars. To be a resilient walker means never to be only resilient or only walking, but to marry the two, so they can hold hands with one who knows the difference.”
– Shree Walker, Resilient Walker: A Novel (self-published, Kindle Direct Publishing, 2018).

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Finding a mentor can be very difficult. The best ability of a mentor is availability. Be sure that your mentor is flexible and available to spend the necessary time to teach and guide you properly. Secondly, ensure that your mentor has the appropriate knowledge and skills in the area that you wish to learn. Finally, the mentor-mentee relationship should be reciprocal in some shape, form or fashion. The mentee must be willing to pour back into their mentor by showing positive results. This gives the mentor assurance that his or her efforts are truly adding value into your life.
