Check Out Fiorella Villarruel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fiorella Villarruel.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was a Loan Officer for seven years, and I put my position on hold to be a full-time stay-at-home mom for almost a decade while my husband was traveling for work. I loved being available for my children, so I worked in the school system for a few years to be able to be flexible for my kids. As they grew, eventually I needed a change and I wasn’t sure what direction to go with my life. It admittedly felt very isolating having given so much to my family and wondering where that left Fiorella as an individual career woman… I know this is a feeling many moms can relate to. One day my husband had suggested getting my Real Estate license. It was an interesting idea but didn’t immediately spark to me. He convinced me that with my knowledge of the area, my love of homes new and old, and the people skills that I had honed through the years to give it a try… and it was just one day in when I fell in love with my new career! My husband loves to remind me that it was all his idea.

I’m a big, Type-A workaholic and basically never relax. I’m always out there chasing a bigger goal, but while looking forward, I never fail to stop and appreciate how far I’ve come. Meeting new people and forming new connections is the best part of my job. My amazing Coach and supportive Broker are a big part of my success.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It wasn’t easy! As they say, “Real Estate Never Sleeps!” I’ve spent a lot of time away from my family and working through weekends and vacations; all the stress that comes with running your own business is real, and trying to set schedules and boundaries during your first year is not realistic. But the stress was compounded during Covid Pandemic and brought with it a lot of necessary innovations.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a realtor and my business is all about relationships. My most successful transactions are the result of my colleagues in the industry such as lenders, title/ escrows officers, and agents. My clients constantly refer me to new friends (aka buyers) and that has been the ultimate reward–making people’s home dreams happen and seeing them so happy at the end of the transaction that they want to share that experience with others.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I had great training at Parks realty, and also have a mentor who is able to help me build my confidence and help me solve problems.

As far as networking, I was a stay-at-home mom for eight years but I was part of several online groups and I’ve met wonderful families along the way. I’m not gonna lie being at the right place at the right time is a bonus, I’m not shy about starting a conversation to connect with people.
