Being a Gen Xer herself, Meagan knew those terms were unfair, untrue and hurtful so she began researching small and large businesses to debunk generational myths and discover the most effective ways to solve multi-generational clashes. That research gave birth to thousands of generational presentations and to her best selling book” Generations Inc., From Boomers To Linksters Managing the Friction Between Generations at Work”.

Meagan is the de-facto expert when it comes to navigating the maze of generational quandaries’ every organization faces.

Quoted in the Chicago Tribune, CNNMoney.com and US News & World Report, she has been heard most recently on NPR (NPR was a BIG BUCKET LIST experience for Meagan!), ABC Talk Live and profiled on Conde’ Nast’s Portfolio.com.

Her clients include: Harley-Davidson, CISCO, Comcast, Procter & Gamble, Starwood Resorts, Nestle Purina, American Health Care Association, Boeing, CSAA Insurance Group, THE C.I.A. and Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

Meagan has been speaking professionally since 1997. She is a third generation native of Phoenix AZ and has four dogs that have a total 15 legs. You do the math!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was very fortunate. When I began my business, I did not know what I did not know. One of the toughest aspects of being a professional speaker is being able to not obsess over everyone LOVING your presentation. It is impossible to make everyone happy. While on stage it requires you to put your talents, thoughts, and research out for everyone to see. You can feel very vulnerable. There will always be people who are not going to connect with your message. As a professional you must be able to objectively examine their criticism and decide if the feedback has merit.

What exactly is a Generational Expert?

It’s somebody who understands the differences between Baby Boomers (born 1945-1964), Generation Xers (born 1965-1980) Millennials (born 1981-1996) and Gen Zers [ born 1997–2012 ] and how they can live, and most importantly, work together successfully without name-calling or bloodshed.

Think you’ve already heard everything about the multiple generations? Think again!

Our generations and the gaps that separate them are in constant flux. What worked last year probably won’t work today. Anybody still using their VCR? Do you really need to get all those home movies put on disc! … Wait! I mean Digital Storage. Oh No! I mean The Cloud!

The potential for collision, conflict and confusion between the generations has never been greater and the chasm is growing wider every day we ignore it.

Unwilling to accept standard, by-the-book generalizations, Meagan tackles the generational challenges, myths and misunderstandings head on. Meagan demonstrates to audiences, through her own experience, in-adepth research and program customization, that all generations have differences and strengths that go beyond mere age and appearance.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Most often happiness is a choice. The choice becomes easier when you surround yourself, spend your time and fill your life with people and activities you find fulfilling. That said… I spend the majority of my free time exercising, eating unusual food, drinking wine with my husband and friends and figuring out what I can do to improve the lives of animals across the world.
