Hi Spirit, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
At the age of 21, my dream was to have a better life. I looked through the Yellow Pages to find any school near me. I didn’t have a car. So, I needed a school somewhere close and also on a city bus line. I decided to apply for Barber school (Roffler hair design college in Jax, Florida). I had no idea how to cut hair, nor how to hold shears, not clippers. Thank goodness for my great instructors. It’s because of them I am the great master barber I am today. 30 years later, I realized there was something missing in my professional life. Each haircut, all I would notice was skin face and facial structure. I started advising my haircut clients to wear sunscreen. No matter how good my hair cuts looked. I felt there was something missing. In my mind, I need it to connect the hair and the skin together to achieve an all together cohesive look. Moving forward aesthetic training was screaming my name! I decided to apply for my new goal aesthetic school (QCC in Clarksville, TN)
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I attended aesthetic school in the midst of my divorce. I guess my joy for skin dominated my concerns for divorcing. I dove into school! Loved everything about aesthetics from facials, waxing and most of all the relaxation. They’re also was an added bonus for an older lady like myself. Aesthetics allow me to have a sit down career.

I now mentor and educate others in the beauty industry. Passion was always something I strived for aesthetics gave me that. Aesthetics gave me a passion for skin, anti-aging skin. I’m in that anti-aging skin bracket. So I am a beast when it comes to anti-aging skin treatments. I want to help clients look and feel their absolute best. I’m happy to provide facial treatments that suit their specific and personal needs.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
During the Covid pandemic ordering facial, waxing supplies was at a dead halt. My clients needed and wanted skincare products. PLNMSKIN was born out of necessity for facial products.
