Daily Inspiration: Meet Lily Braidich

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lily Braidich.

Hi Lily, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi friends, my name is Lily and I am a twenty-year-old woman who is passionate about achieving her goals in the beauty industry! I am currently in Esthetician school which has been a dream of mine for a few years! I just moved here to Tennessee all the way from West Hartford, Connecticut. I decided to go to Paul Mitchell the School Nashville to work on getting my Esthetician license since I have been pursuing makeup for a few years now. Back in CT, I started off by posting videos and makeup looks on YouTube and Instagram when I was in high school. I became consistent and caught the attention of people in my town and other towns as well. With that being said, I eventually built my makeup kit and started freelancing for proms, weddings, Quinceañeras, etc. Not only did I enjoy the craft of makeup itself, but also making others feel confident and beautiful within their own skin.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, I don’t believe any journey in life is meant to be smooth! For a while, I was posting myself doing tutorials and different makeup looks, but I felt like I was going nowhere. I had little to no engagement, which sometimes I still struggle with in this social media realm. I decided it wasn’t about the amount of likes or what products I had, but it was about my passion and dedication in this industry. Sometimes I get in creative funks, which is why breaks are necessary for any creative individual, but I never gave up on myself. If you really want something you are going to be dedicated until you get there! It’s all a journey so I keep reminding myself as long as I’m making small steps to my future goals while also having fun, then whatever is meant to be will be!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I focus on my craft of makeup the most. Growing up I always loved art classes and would join art clubs, and it eventually morphed into the makeup industry for me! It’s like art on your face; there’s really no rules and you can just have fun with it. As I’m currently in school working towards my Esthetics license, I try and post on my social media when I am feeling creative. Since moving here, I will be working on building my clientele at school, I can perform services such as waxing, facials, tinting, facial massage, and makeup. I look forward to expanding my knowledge to become a well-rounded Esthetician and makeup artist in one! I am most proud of my dedication and total work ethic because if I were to have gave up on myself a year ago when I was feeling uninspired, I wouldn’t be here today discussing my future plans!

What matters most to you?
What matters to me the most is making a difference in others’ lives. I love creating art on myself and others while making them happy and confident in themselves. If I can make one person laugh each day, then my day is made as well! Whether it’s just a funny social media post or a client’s service, I want to make sure everyone feels welcome in my presence! This industry is not just about your talent, but also about your communication with others and being personable to their experiences too. I appreciate all walks of life and want to make sure my future business and demographic is an all-inclusive place where people will feel comfortable being unapologetically themselves while receiving top-tier service!
