Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabineen Cordaro.
Hi Fabineen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started in July 2021, when Emma hosted her first Mama’s Night Out – an evening of authentic conversation about being a mom, and still connecting with who we are as individuals. That evening she met Fabi, Madison, and Marissa.
Fabi and Emma quickly connected on their desire for community – there are a lot of people moving to the Hendersonville area, and it can be hard to make friends! We met for drinks one night to discuss our desire to hold space for women to show up as their authentic selves and to connect with other like-minded women (and not just another group for moms, even though the four of us are moms). We also wanted to provide women with resources and tools for personal growth.
From those big dreams, The Women’s Collaborative was born! From there, we started figuring out our focus areas, planning get-togethers and meet-ups, and receiving feedback on what other women are looking for. Since then we’ve had our foot on the gas working to create community and connection for the women in our area.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
So far it’s been pretty smooth. We’re all very driven to get plugged into the community and let women know we’re here for them. The only “chaotic” time was when we planned our Neighborhoods Market in 7 weeks! It was non-stop, but ultimately a huge success!
Over 35 vendors – all women-owned small businesses, creatives, makers. We are so proud and got great feedback from the vendors and the community about how intentional and amazing the market was. We learned so much and can’t wait to do it again!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Women’s Collaborative?
Our mission at The Women’s Collaborative is to provide authenticity and inclusion by offering a safe space for all women to support each other, build connections and create community. We are not a club, we’re an open, free organization looking for women who are in need of greater connection.
You can join us by being a contributor (helping to lead a focus area, host an event, speak on a topic, etc.) or by being a participant (attending our gatherings and events). We welcome ideas as we’re an open group that wants to help women get the connection they are looking for.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
There will always be a need for connection, and I hope we can evolve our group over the years to meet women at every phase. We have big dreams of what we can bring to our area, and who we can one day partner with, but for now, we are focused on being present and connecting with women in 2022! Stay tuned for the exciting things in store!
