Meet Elle Christine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elle Christine.

Hi Elle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up with a background in performance and fine arts. The majority of my life was spent in New Orleans, Louisiana up until I moved to New York to pursue greater opportunities. Over the time I’ve spent here in NYC I’ve changed my career path a handful of times, but whether it was at a dental spa or a hair salon I always found myself at my happiest when bringing joy to others through my work. Over time I became less focused on the main stage dream and more invested in content creation and sharing experiences through photography and social media. Having gone between Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, and New York, I’ve recently found that travel blogging is a beautiful way to combine my passions while making connections with people from all walks of life. I’m excited to continue chasing that and exploring more of the world around me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
If I’m being completely transparent, I wouldn’t fully recommend anyone to move from their hometown the way that I did. I was pretty young and fairly inexperienced, impulsively moving to the largest city in the world. I had five different jobs at once at one point, and I’ve moved eight times in three years. I was unprepared, to say the least. I definitely do not regret it, I’m just grateful to be where I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in interpersonal communications and interviewing with a focus on social media marketing. I worked with a dental spa for the majority of my career, and at this practice, I created dialogue for interview pieces with patients regarding their experiences at our office and others. I also coordinated photo shoots and recordings of commercial-style skits and campaigns. I feel like I have an edge in my career because I’m also comfortable on camera, not just running the show behind the scenes. When we would have models and actors not able to come for shoots, I wouldn’t hesitate to fill the role that was required for the project to stay on track. I’d say I’m most proud of the way that I’ve been able to maintain a focus on bringing joy to others through my work within the jobs I’ve encountered. At first, I felt very unsure of how to proceed with making people feel good and happy enough to talk about something as uncomfortable and possibly traumatic as their dental history, but I discovered ways around that. This led to a vulnerability that was comfortable enough for these wonderful people to express themselves to me; creating meaningful connections and incredible friendships along the way.

What’s next?
I’m excited to continue creating content that is somewhat reflective of what I’ve done in the past, but with a greater focus on real-world issues and experiences rather than a niche market. I’d also like to expand on the social media consulting side of things. A big change would be more working for the passion project this time around, rather than working to make it to the next month in the place you love. That doesn’t mean that the workload lessens, of course, I have a good amount to learn before I can get these projects off the ground.
