Today we’d like to introduce you to Colby Collier.
Hi Colby, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Going back about 7ish years my son Asher was born. I had been into hockey and content creation for a few years prior to that and through a laundry list of medical issues, he was granted a wish through Make-A-Wish so it was almost like all sides came together to grant him this wish. If you know anything about Asher, he is just crazy about hockey. His wish was to become a Nashville Predator. So, in March of 2019, the Nashville Predators, the Nashville Predators Foundation, and Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee all got together and granted his wish. Asher is now 6 years old and thriving in the 6U development league with the Nashville Warriors. My wife and I had been looking for something to keep him involved with Make-A-Wish and also to allow us to give back to other families so that they can have their wishes granted. We came up with a tournament series called The Wish Cup which is two events per year 1 ice and 1 roller. So far, the hockey community has enabled us to donate $25k to Make-A-Wish Middle TN and we are looking to double that in 2022. The media side of what I do has really helped grow this to a level that I never thought possible. We are really looking forward to 2022.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Challenges has been the name of the game. Asher spent a total of 15 weeks in the hospital and has had more surgeries than any kid should ever have to endure.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The MD Media.
This was sort of born just out of filming beer league hockey games and it has really become a passion of mine. I get to travel the world and film hockey events, launches and really just have fun with my friends and family.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My wife. She deserves ALL of the credit. When you talk about a rock or someone that stands behind you and supports you no matter what this is her. Nothing would be possible without our relationship.
