Rising Stars: Meet Terrica Smith

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrica Smith.

Hi Terrica, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
An old laptop and iPhone full of photos were my only ingredients when we launched Eden & Vine Magazine. I was just crazy enough to step out in blind faith and see what God might do with my proverbial “loaves & fish” as I brought them obediently and trusted Him to do the rest. I never could have imagined the twists and turns, open doors, and opportunities we’d have as a result! My mind is blown every single day as we ship magazines around the world. It’s incredible.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, it’s been anything but smooth! But that’s what makes it worth it, right? We’ve had printers walk out on us without notice, mistakes made every step of the way, shipping challenges like crazy thanks to the pandemic, etc. As my dear friend and mentor says, “You pay for your learning!” Meaning, you can’t grow without a bit of struggle, that’s precisely how you learn. It causes your roots to grow deep and secure.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m the founder and editor-in-chief of Eden & Vine. We’re one part faith-based women’s publication, one part lifestyle. We teach women how to cultivate lives that radiate beauty and truth. Our pillars of teaching are spiritual identity, holistic wellness, flourishing home, and thriving relationships. We believe every woman is a beacon of life-giving hope to those around her, the community she’s rooted in, and ultimately the world… and we’re here to support her (and one another) in every way we can.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Faith.
