Exploring Life & Business with Ashleigh Haney of ALIGN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashleigh Haney. 

Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Throughout my high school and college experience, I always had the goal of being my own boss and starting my own company. I wasn’t so sure what that would look like, so I continued to grow my education in the business career path. Post graduating, a friend of mine entrusted me with coordinating her wedding day as I had a niche in event planning in college and have a type-A personality. I had no idea I would love coordinating her big day as much as I did! From meeting and working with all the vendors to bringing the bride’s vision to life, I learned that this opened a door for me to explore a passion of mine. 

And that brings us to January 1 of 2021, the launch of ALIGN. Fast forward to today, I have coordinated a total of 14 weddings and am booked out for 2022. With the support of my friends and family, all of the brides and grooms who have trusted me with their big day, and all of the learning opportunities I have had, I am happy to say I get to be a part of the process of so many more special days. 

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This first year was definitely a ‘learn as you go’ in the best possible way. Each wedding has given me different insights that I will carry with me. I learned what worked and what didn’t along the way. The more weddings I coordinate the more prepared I become for the unexpected. No bride or wedding day is going to be exactly the same so part of my job is to be ready for any task and to make quick decisions when necessary. 

I have previous experience working for a wedding convention company called The Pink Bride which showed me a glimpse of the industry and got me excited to be a part of it. Give them a follow if you are newly engaged! Their shows are a great way to find vendors for your day! 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about ALIGN?
Align by Ashleigh is a wedding coordination company. I provide day of and month of coordination services in the Chattanooga and Nashville Areas. Once a bride and groom have selected all of their vendors and picked out their vision and decor, I step in to handle the rest. Some tasks I take care of are managing all vendors, timeline creation, day of set up, ceremony run-through, and so much more. 

What matters most to you? Why?
I have learned that one of the most important aspects of working in the wedding industry for me is building relationships. I want my clients to trust that I will bring their vision to life and take the weight of ensuring a fluid wedding off of their hands, so they are able to enjoy their day. That starts with getting to know them and their vision and developing a relationship with everyone involved in their wedding process. With that, I also focus on clear communication and relationships with vendors to create a seamless event for my clients and their guests.
