Hidden Gems: Meet Craig Ballin of Adspire Creative Group

Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig Ballin.

Hi Craig, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
So as a kid, I was never in the vacation videos because I was always wanting to be the one operating the camera. I always loved storytelling. During college, I was on my path to enter law school but still knew my heart was in video making. I took a year off and backpacked around Europe, side notes my memoir of this travel is being published in a few months. Coming back I decided to pursue video. I was blessed to work on some major projects. After traveling and filming all over the country and a few other countries I wanted to settle down and not be on the road so much. This lead me to work for a company that took me from Cali to Little Rock, AR, and finally to Nashville. As I worked, hand in hand with a ton of clients and major agencies I realized my other passion was marketing. I was good at developing a marketing strategy that would actually help the client. I was advising the agencies on how to maximize the client’s budget using video production, and run campaigns across multiple platforms. I started coaching small businesses for non-profits, along with mentoring an entrepreneur program for high school kids, and later opened Adspire Creative Group. We are a small agency that focuses on video marketing strategy and creation. We’ve been blessed to have been awarded multiple Telly awards and Muse awards. We have worked with major non-profits, universities, government organizations, and even special operations units.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It is a smooth road then you are set up for a hard fall. my journey as a video producer has not been easy. I’ve thought maybe I should have been a lawyer many times. But then I get projects like the one this week where we are working with a non-profit that is about Human Trafficking and those projects need a voice. I’m honored to work on those projects.

We’ve been impressed with Adspire Creative Group, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What should we know? Adspire Creative Group is not just video production. We doing marketing. We are really good at developing a marketing strategy that gets results. What are you known for? We have been known for working with non-profits and government organizations creating educational series.
What sets you apart from others?

What are you most proud of brand-wise? The Telly and Muse awards we have received for projects.

What are your plans for the future?
We have the vision to expand as a franchise. The need for video and marketing is only increasing and we believe there’s a huge opportunity to franchise. So you’re not dealing with a major agency or some independent freelancer working out of his home. There should be a better choice that brings the cost down while increasing the quality.

We are looking forward to working with some awesome new clients this year which we can not name at this point. : )
