Today we’d like to introduce you to Dori Gronich.
Dori, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up in my family, we always had a variety of pets: dogs, a bearded dragon, gerbils, mice, various fish, a hamster, and guinea pigs. I never knew a life without our furry and scaly friends. I’m grateful, as these pets taught me about responsibility. We adopted our current guinea pigs Louie and Freddie from an exotic vet in New York. The vet was fostering them as the previous owner had been neglecting them. They are now Internet celebrities! My background in Graphic Design is useful in designing the content for Planetpiggies. In addition, I opened a merchandise shop on Threadless with many of my designs available for purchase. Last year, during the pandemic, my brother and I designed a trading card game called “Planet Piggies The Card Game” which is based on guinea pigs’ daily antics.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been a perfect journey. There have been many happy moments and of course sad ones too. Each time a pet passed away it was so painful. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. Also starting an Instagram and growing it to where it is today is fun, but tough. It wasn’t an overnight success.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work at an Elementary School as a Paraprofessional and at a sports venue in fan services. On the side, I enjoy designing and creating content for Planetpiggies and I’m very proud to say that Planetpiggies has a following of 7500 fans.
Any big plans?
It’s my hope that Planetpiggies will continue to grow and provide my followers with positive energy to help them through their days. I have an exciting announcement for Planetpiggies coming next month… keep an eye out for it😉
