Today we’d like to introduce you to Steven Asadoorian.
Hi Steven, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I moved to Nashville from Orlando Florida in 2012. Originally from Massachusetts, I found my way to Florida after graduating college. At the time of my move to TN, I had been working in the entertainment business as a singer. I sang in The Lion King at Disney World and was a member of the pop vocal group Rockapella from 2010-2016. Once I made the move to Nashville I worked as a hustling musician playing music on Broadway, writing songs, and singing aboard the General Jackson Showboat from 2013-2015. Back in late 2015, I ran into some vocal issues which stopped my singing career. A friend of mine was a Realtor and said I may be good at this job considering my work ethic and people skills. So, I took the plunge and got my real estate license. It was a struggle at first, like most agents in their first year. But I was learning a lot and taking in as much information as I could. After a tough first year of only closing one deal, I made a switch to a team that provided some resources and additional training, which helped a ton. That second year I sold twenty-two homes and finally made some money and helped some clients. I spent the next three years building my business on the team I was on and continued to learn. Also, I had an opportunity to teach and train new agents since I was able to find success. I found happiness in helping new agents learn and grow. While all this was happen, my wife, Sam, also got her real estate license after years spent in the service/restaurant industry. She sold a few homes her first year, then twenty her second… We started to gain momentum as agents and decided it was time to branch off from our team and start our own team. So, in 2021, last year, we did just that. We started the Nashville Home Squad team of Exp Realty and have grown to having five agents on our team. Last year Sam and I sold just over $17M at 43 units combined and have goal to beat that this year. We have a little boy of 16 months old named Gryffin who is our motivation daily to get better and better.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth ride. There are many ups and downs in real estate. Back when I lost my voice and just starting in real estate, I was driving for uber and lyft. That was tough. I was doing whatever I could to get by. There certainly were months where little or no money came in and I had to really prioritize where I put my resources. Even to this day, there are ups and downs. Some months you’re on cloud nine selling 5-7 homes and the next you are back to the basics of finding new clients. But I will say it is that inner drive and work ethic that keeps those ups and downs as steady as possible. Never get too high when things are rolling great and never get too low when things are tough. Just keep working!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Nashville Home Squad of Exp Realty is part of a larger interstate real estate team called The Home Squad. We have teams in Florida, New York, New Jersey, Louisville, and Tennessee. We all collaborate and help each other find success while running our own individual teams in each state or city. We pride our business on the highest level of customer service and communication. We specialize in residential real estate helping home buyers, sellers and investors reach their real estate goals.
What sets us apart from other agents is our individual attention to each client. No one situation or client is the same and we structure our relationships accordingly. If we have a first-time home buyer, we spend more time on the process and what to expect when buying a home. If we have a savvy investor, we work together to find them the best opportunity in our fast-paced market. For our sellers, we provide high-level marketing and exposure to get their home in front of the most amount of qualified buyers which will bring them the most amount of profit for their sale. We do that by shooting HGTV style listing videos which are professionally hosted, shot, and edited to really stand out in today’s market. Those videos not only get listed on our MLS but are showcased on our website, social media pages, and YouTube to get thousands of views. That helps to find those out-of-town buyers who have their eyes set on Nashville.
What we are proud of brand-wise, is the fact that we are not cookie-cutter agents that say, list with us we’ll sell for more. Or buy with us, our agents are the best. We work to build relationships with our clients that last far beyond the sale of a home and our clients know they can turn to us two weeks or ten years down the road and we’ll be there for them to help any way we can. Also, our branding is different than most. We are the “superheroes” of real estate which you can see from our website and branding. Each agent is personally branded to showcase their skill set and personality. For example, I am Agent S, like superman, because I will fight for what’s right in a deal and get my clients in the best position possible to achieve our goals. My wife Sam is “The Straight Shooter” because she is a no-nonsense straight to the point person and she brings that into her real estate deals (with compassion of course). Our agent Evan Hedrick is “The Matchmaker” because he finds the perfect matching house for our buyer’s needs. Kyle Henry is “The Producer” because he has worked many years producing high-level live entertainment events and he brings that experience to his clients. Amber McDonough is “The Concierge” because she tailors her work to fit her clients’ most specific needs.
I’d like your readers to know when they work with a Nashville Home Squad agent, they get a realtor who is experienced, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and friendly. We work very hard to keep our clients in the know every step of the way and always strive to provide the professional and personal relationship it takes to buy or sell a house. It’s not just a sale it’s our clients’ lives, families, and future and we want to make sure the experience is fun, profitable, and as smooth as possible.
We offer residential real estate services to buyers, sellers, and investors in the Greater Nashville area.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-15 years I think our market is going to continually change. I think overall the housing market will have ups and downs but in my opinion, the Nashville area will continue to grow considering the amount of people and industry moving to our great city and state. New platforms to buy and sell homes will continue to evolve but I feel because of the personal nature of residential real estate, people will still benefit from having a Realtor in their corner looking out for their best interests instead of just buying a home online. I think our number one value to our clients is the relationship that is formed when buying or selling a home because for the most part, it is personal. I believe customers like to have someone they can trust in their corner when making a big life decision like buying or selling a home.
