Meet James Jones of Redbirds Baseball Club

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Jones. 

Hi James, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve played baseball all of my life. It wasn’t until the final year of my professional career I realized I wanted to start my own travel baseball organization to give back but more importantly to teach young men this game the right way and to prepare them for life after baseball. 

I can vividly remember during my playing days striking out the side or closing out a game for a save the feeling I would get would be amazing But, nothing like the feeling/excitement I get when I see young players figure out something they been trying to accomplish for so long or their face when they hit a home run or make a spectacular play is unlike any feeling I’ve ever felt. It truly is rewarding and fills me up inside. 

I’ve been very fortunate with the people in my life that’s helped me build what we have in such a short time. My parents have always taught me if you’re honest and trustworthy, people will always respect you, even if it’s not what they want to hear. I will always live by that. 

RBC currently has 10 total teams from ages 11u-17u. We feel that all 10 teams will be competitive on the field with a few being elite. With having over 360 players trying out for us last August, we plan to expand the number of teams this fall. We are here to stay. 

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We’ve been very fortunate that we haven’t had too many struggles along the way. 

As you know, we’re big fans of Redbirds Baseball Club Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My partner (Brian Hall) and I stared the Redbirds Baseball Club in the fall of 2019. We are a Christian-based organization, and strive to put God first. Our purpose is to prepare your son’s life far beyond the baseball field. RBC was created to provide a higher level of competition, for talented and motivated baseball players, with a commitment to improvement their skill sets in a team-focused environment. We value ourselves on teaching life lessons in every player who chooses to play for us. We care how each player holds himself accountable in achieving short-term goals and turning them into life goals. It’s not always about winning and losing on the ball field, but about creating an environment that will help them succeed in life from beyond the baseball field. Ultimately, our coordinators and coaches will strive to prepare each player mentally and physically outside of their comfort zone to reach their full potential.

Nashville is an awesome city and place to live. It has to be one of the best competitive young sport cities in America. The baseball talent is remarkable.
