Life & Work with Stacey Collins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Collins.

Hi Stacey, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hey, I’m Stacey and I am DIY and Home Decor Blogger and influencer! I started Wilshire Collections 9 years ago when my youngest son was a toddler and I was looking for a way to use my creativity and be able do something on the side while being a stay-at-home mom. I had fallen in love with chalk painting furniture, so I spent the first several years doing custom pieces and having booth spaces at several local stores. Over time, my business began to grow and evolve in ways that I never dreamed. I branched into in-home decorating services and then started focusing on growing my social media presence online. I quickly realized that there were ladies all over the country who wanted my help with learning how to make cute decor and decorate their homes. I started my blog and started doing FB lives to share ideas with people. The past few years have been a whirlwind of growth, change, and pivoting within my business. I now have over 300k followers across all platforms and an amazing loyal community of ladies who I have the honor of teaching and inspiring each and every week. I’ve got an online store, the blog, 2 subscription groups and you can often find me on FB live crafting with one of my printables or making cute seasonal or everyday decor. My mission is to help people find JOY through decorating and DIY and I truly love what I do. It’s been a lot of hard work over the years, but I can truly say I’ve never been happier!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it has been a long and windy road! Smooth at times, and bumpy at others. When I made the transition to the online space, it was very hard for me to put myself out there and go live. When I first started, hardly anyone would watch. But with the encouragement of my family and biz buddies, I kept at it and kept persisting. Over time, more and more people showed up, and now going live is one of my favorite things to do!

Sometimes you start out on one path and then it starts winding. When you get to that split, you have to decide which way to go. I have had many times where I’ve had to make that choice on which way to go, but I know without a doubt that each choice I made along the way brought me to where I am today and where I’m supposed to be!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Something that I’ve done that I’m very proud of are my printable designs. You may have heard of printables before as something that you maybe print and put in a frame. A couple years ago I started making them with crafting in mind so that people could make cute decor for their homes without any fancy equipment. Ladies from all over have fallen in love with this style of crafting and it’s become something I am known for now. I put a lot of love and thought into my designs and even have a printable club subscription that gives people early access and the best deal on each month’s new bundles! If you’re crafty and have never tried it, you would love it! And the best part is, that even someone who doesn’t consider themself too creative or crafty can do it because I do a lot of the creative work upfront for people. It’s been a game-changer for my crafting and thousands of other ladies as well!

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Gosh, there are so many! But something that sticks out that’s kind of a full circle thing is going to TJMaxx with my mom and sister. haha! I always say that my love for decorating started way back in my childhood. My mom has always been a great decorator and taught us from a young age how to shop those deals in the aisles of TJMaxx. It was my first job when I was 15, and still one of my favorite stores to this day!
