Rising Stars: Meet Jordan Moed

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Moed.

Hi Jordan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
The Hungry & Dangerous began during the pandemic but didn’t officially form until spring of 2021. In 2019, I was on tour with a band and happened to run into Matt Lewis at show. Matt and I are old friends since high school and we started catching up and talked about doing music together again. At the time I had told him about how I was working on my solo career apart from what I was doing with the band I was currently in and he was immediately enthralled and we exchanged numbers and both said we would speak soon. It was until April of 2020 where Matt and I would actually start talking about this again and I had recently written this solo album and was dying to get it started. Matt and I spent the next few months demoing these ideas and tracks and it wasn’t until our good friend and fellow Nashville Producer Tristan Roberts jumped into the equation to the where we would officially greenlight the album. We spent the summer of 2020 tracking this album and would spend the next 2 years really putting it together and making it the best it could be. During this time, I had released 2 solo singles and Matt had mentioned that a band should be made from this, just based on how the music sounded and was presented. We sat on this for a while and it wasn’t until April of 2021 when we decided it was time to release a single. At the time we still agreed it would be under my solo banner, but when we released the initial announcement posts on social media, we both got flooded with messages of people saying “we can’t wait to hear the new band” and instead of us correcting all these people, we just said, did the fans just make and name this band? We thought yes, all the pieces were aligning. Just before the release of our debut single in May, (The Hungry & Dangerous) Dan Morin who had been working with us as a consultant in the recording stages of the album had officially joined on bass. The Hungry & Dangerous was released and formed on May 5th, 2021 to those loyal fans who named and made the band. 2 days the later, I appeared on the local buzz with Andy Herrin on 102.9 The Buzz Nashville’s Rock Station and they premiered the track and I officially announced the band. A week or so later we received an email from a UK record label and management team that they had heard our single and were absolutely blown away by it and wanted to talk to us about how we could both work together. During this time, our debut music video dropped for the single, and shortly after we negotiated a record and management deal with them. The next few months of worldwide radio rotation, press, and magazine spots would soar our debut single over 20,000 streams. Not bad for a new band with one single. In the fall of 2021, we announced our live debut and our follow-up single, and our first on the new label. Insomniacs was released in October of 2021 on Diotima Records and a lyric video was released to accompany. The single was instantly in worldwide radio rotation, magazines, blogs, and playlists. The track would soar 10K in the first two months and has soared over 30K to date. As 2022 began, the band and I completed production of our debut album and are currently planning for a summer release date and with hopes of a tour to follow.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
What’s so weird about this band is that even though it has had its struggles, everything falls into place. Just looking back at this band’s crazy story and even tho it’s short, we just followed the path and sure it had its times of hardships, but things really just fell into place and continue to do so!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We like to describe what we do as authentic, original, and unapologetic rock n roll.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I always had a massive amount of energy that I had no idea what to do with. I was and still am very big into professional wrestling and thought as a kid that was what I was gonna do with my life. I got into music at an early age, but it didn’t take over my life until my parents took me to my first concert when I was 6 years old and it was to see KISS. Ever since that day, I never looked back, and I knew exactly what my calling was in life. Bands like Kiss, AC\DC, and Motley Crue really shaped my childhood and who I became.
