Rising Stars: Meet Aaron Clark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Clark.

Hi Aaron, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Our story

Our Founder and CEO Dorrian Porter dreamt up Vestaboard while sitting in Gare du Nord, one of Paris’ most famous railway stations. Dorrian imagined sending inspiring messages to his kids while traveling. He knew a message to a glowing digital screen would be “just another message” among a sea of constant distractions.

Unlike other forms of electronic communication, Vestaboard offers focused, high-visibility messaging that brings people together, creates more inspiring environments, and gets people to look up.

In 2006 in Palo Alto California, I helped Dorrian start a company called Mozes which we grew and sold in 2013. The acquisition of Mozes brought me and my family to the Nashville area. We live in Brentwood and my three kids attend Brentwood Middle and Brentwood High Schools.

I most recently had been working in the Live Event Production as the COO of Rock The Ocean (Tortuga Music Festival) and GLOW, an epic holiday light experience at the Nashville Sounds baseball stadium in 2019.

When COVID changed the landscape of Live Events in March of 2020 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to team up with Dorrian again and help him scale the Vestaboard business. We have an office in Wedgewood-Houston and manage Software Development, Global Logistics, Business Development, and Customer Success from here. I lead Revenue, Operations and Customer Success, over the past two years, we’ve sold over 5000 Vestaboards installed in almost 50 countries worldwide. Our customers range from Fortune 500 Companies to individual consumers who all fell in love with our Flagship Product.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Over the past two years, the biggest obstacle has been trying to navigate the impacts the pandemic has had on Global Supply Chain and Global Logistics. It’s become challenging and more expensive to source the electrical parts and materials need to produce Vestaboards; similarly, all aspects of logistics has become less predictable, less efficient, and more expensive.

We appreciate how our customers have been understanding, supportive and loyal. We have a special customer community.

I’m also very proud of all the outstanding individuals on production, logistics, and customer service teams who work very hard to over-deliver for our customers every day during these challenging times.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We’re a startup, so I’m still involved in most aspects of the business, however, my main focus is business development, operations, and customer success. I’m probably known for my energy and perhaps slightly unhealthy work ethic. I’m the most proud of the teams I’ve help build and the relationships I have with the incredible people I’m lucky enough to work every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve been lucky to have a strong personal and professional network where it has always seems like when one door is closing, the stars align and another door opens.
