Daily Inspiration: Meet Gregg Erwin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gregg Erwin.

Hi Gregg, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Well, I’ve been singing pretty much all of my life. It all started in church a long time ago. I sang with a lot of gospel groups was on live radio shows and all kinds of stuff back then. When my voice changed, I got into sports and stopped for several years. I spent about 21 years on the road driving a truck. In between times, I got started back singing and trying to develop my own style and something that’s not mainstream country music. I’ve played in front of 3 people, 3000, 300,000. Shared stages with some of the greatest country music artist that have ever lived.

I released my first EP in 2019 called 200 Proof and hopefully will be releasing more in the future.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been smooth traveling. There has always been several challenges. One of the biggest challenges is there’s never enough time, between performing and family life, at times it’s near impossible to have a healthy balance and lifestyle.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an independent artist performing throughout the South East, but mainly in Georgia. I perform a ton of solo shows and several band shows a year ranging from festivals to fairs and Honky tonks. Solo shows are mostly Vineyards and Breweries and a few Restaurants.

I enjoy the performing aspect, but all the driving and online work is never-ending.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck has a lot to do with things. Being at the right place at the right time always helps. Hard work and preserverance goes a long way too.
