Today we’d like to introduce you to Landon Hall.
Hi Landon, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Thanks so much for having me on the platform! My name is Landon Hall, Founder of Music City Drum Show (drum expo event held in Nashville, TN). I am a professional drummer/musician/songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Before living in Nashville, I grew up in a musical family in Overland Park, Kansas. I had always loved playing music and sports while growing up. On my ninth birthday, I received my very first drum kit. I taught myself to play and later started to play drums for my local megachurch. After graduating high school, I played drums in a few bands with my friends. Music later brought me to Nashville as I was playing drums for multiple groups that were based out of Nashville. Music had also brought me out to Los Angeles for a few years, with working on multiple projects. In early 2019, I launched the Music City Drum Show. More info at www.MusicCityDrumShow.com.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been smooth, but I’ve learned that whatever is thrown at me, I just have to figure it out. I enjoy encouraging others – whatever it is that you’re experiencing in your life, to never give up. One example of a challenge I experienced was the first annual Music City Drum Show that was originally scheduled to be in the summer of 2020. Of course, we all know what happened in 2020 and like every event, I had to postpone/reschedule. Giving up was the last thing on my mind. I had to push through and keep the momentum going. The 1st Annual Music City Drum Show ended up being held on August 7th, 2021 (one-day event) and it was an amazing turnout! Way more than what I had expected for the first year.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a musician, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur based in Nashville, Tennessee. Best known as working with songwriter-producer Desmond Child on multiple projects. I’ve been a part of bands in the Rock, Country, & Pop genres and have recorded drum tracks on songs that have been aired on radio stations all around the world. I’ve played sold-out arena shows and have shared the stage with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Chad Smith from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Katey Sagal, along with many others. On the acting side, I’ve been featured on networks such as Nickelodeon, CBS, Lifetime, ABC, Syfy, Spike, Netflix, HBO, truTV, and various other networks. I launched the Music City Drum Show in 2019. The 1st Annual Music City Drum Show was held on August 7th, 2021 (one-day event). We had an amazing turnout! We had over a thousand people attend and it was also featured in Modern Drummer Magazine! We had over 75 vendors, 3 drum clinics, and lots of well-known drummers/musicians were in attendance as well. It was held at the Fairgrounds Nashville in a building that has over 25,000 sq ft. We ended up having way more vendors and attendees than what I had originally thought we would have for the 1st inaugural show. I received lots of feedback from vendors and attendees suggesting that we do a 2-Day event for future drum shows. So, after hearing everyone’s feedback, I decided to do a 2-Day event in a bigger building for 2022. The 2nd Annual Music City Drum Show was held on July 9th & 10th, 2022 in Expo 3 Building at the Fairgrounds Nashville in a building that has over 34,000 sq ft! I am a musician, songwriter, actor, and entrepreneur. I’ve been featured on Nickelodeon and lots of other networks. I love playing sports (basketball, football, baseball, and golf). I went to 3 different high schools, in 3 different States (Kansas, New Hampshire, Missouri). I played basketball, football, and golf in high school. I went to State in golf my junior year of high school. My favorite drink is Dr Pepper.
