Conversations with Zachary Wixon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Wixon.

Hi Zachary, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was working a low-paying front desk job for a small Cardiology department in Central Illinois when I woke up one day and said “I can do more, I’m going to do more.” I remember texting my family letting them know I did not have a plan but I was quitting my job and I would figure it out.

I knew I had the drive to do what it took to get myself in a position I would be happy with. Shortly after leaving that job, I moved in with my partner around the Chicago suburbs, with no job and a whole lot of faith. After several interviews and job offers later, I found a position I thought “let’s make this happen”, I knew I did not want to be in the role I accepted long but thought if I could keep my head down and focus I would be able to climb that ladder.

One month in, I was offered to oversee two more small offices within that company and then 3 quickly spread to 5. Overseeing 5 offices in greater Chicago/Northern Indiana, I knew then, with a little extra focus and a leader who saw potential in me, that my manifestations would become reality. I was offered a higher paying role in Clarksville, TN with that company which lead me into a position I worked hard for.

Shortly after that, I was approached with an offer I could not turn down as a Regional Director in Raleigh, North Carolina. After a whirlwind of a year with a trying company in Raleigh, NC I found myself heading back to the heart of Nashville, where I belonged. OVME had always been on my radar, they were the goal.

They had what I knew I wanted. Trendy, successful, professional, focused, and a strong leadership team I wanted to be a part of. Three months into being the Studio Manager of one of OVME’s top-performing studios I have never been more proud of the grit and determination I have shown myself to get to my “Happy”.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
What’s that saying, “the road less traveled is the most rewarding…” something like that, right? A bumpy road is an understatement but oh was it ever rewarding. I mentioned prior some of the obstacles and sure, some of those obstacles I put in front of myself.

Like, for as not having a job before I quit one. Looking back I sort of cringe, but I was young and had a whole lot of fearless faith. One of the biggest challenges I think was my time in Raleigh, North Caroline. I was working for a unique company that I felt had so much potential but not a lot of resources.

As I am sure you can feel in my words, I have a lot of passion behind me. I want success for anything and anyone I am involved with. I learned a lot that year with the biggest learning curve being to do what you can while you can and know when to step back.

I learned to accept things as they were and while it was the most trying year of my life professionally, it was my biggest year of growth both personally and professionally. The struggle makes the success that much better! Learn to dance in those storms it won’t rain forever!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work for OVME, pronounced “of me”, which is a retail medical aesthetics company that connects aspiring men and women with skilled health care providers in select cities nationwide.

OVME combines an innovative, direct-to-consumer mobile platform with contemporary yet welcoming retail boutiques to deliver high-quality minimally invasive cosmetic services. I currently work as the Studio Manager for our Nashville (Green Hills) location. I bring years of healthcare and retail management as well as a strong aesthetic knowledge with me to this office.

Our Nashville location was the second studio opened by OVME, and with that brings a highly competent and strong team of medical professionals. I am proud and honored to get to work with such talent in our specific studio and company alike.

What we are able to do for the Nashville and surrounding areas is bigger than us, we are giving clients their confidence back, their youthful glow, and their inner beauty shines through brighter when they walk out of our doors!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
OVME is currently in 9 states with 14 open locations. After 2022 we will be open in even more states and will have 25 active studios. We are growing at such an appropriate rate that keeps our clients at the focus of our structure.

We have just launched an exciting new program for aspiring injectors currently known as our “Injector-in-Training” program. This highly sought-after program offers a well-structured learning curriculum with a hands-on approach to learning the correct, most up-to-date, art of medical aesthetics.

Not only do we offer such high-quality training for new aspiring injectors but the level of commitment OVME takes on their current team to further their learning and knowledge in the industry is something I have found refreshing and rewarding.

Continued education keeps us at the top of our game and I am proud to work for a company that invests so deeply in who they have on staff.
