Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Rayn. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Originally from the PNW who has now called Nashville home for 12 years – Tyler Rayn has a voice that can make you feel. His mix of modern pop production, powerhouse vocals, and vulnerable songwriting displays a sonic profile of an artist that very much knows who they are.
A Nashville-based musician and two time American Idol Contestant who grew up listening to Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, and George Michael, Tyler’s knack for blending genres is more than evident in his original songs – like the reggae-infused “BTW” – and soulful covers – like his heart-wrenching take on Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own.”
With creativity embedded in his DNA, Tyler feels at home in the studio where experimentation comes naturally, and he’s excited for that dynamic energy to be heard on his forthcoming debut full-length studio album.
Tyler has also recently written a pride anthem for the LGBTQ+ community which hit #33 on the iTunes global charts #17 on the United States Pop Charts & #7 in all genres in the United Kingdom. He will be setting off starting in May on his tour of the UK as well as some pride festivals in the United States this summer.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s kind of incredible to think about all the things that I’ve overcome. I feel like I’ve lived a hundred lifetimes at times but I’m grateful for those hardships because that’s what’s molded me into who I am today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I would first and foremost consider myself a songwriter. It’s what I’m most proud of & what sets me apart is the way I do it. Writing is my favorite part of the musical process. Im unapologetically me through my art & that’s what makes me unique. My strongest ability is to make people feel something.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Seek out people that you want to be like & people that challenge/push you outside your comfort zone. Try new things. Also – Listen to what the consumer/the fans want they always seem to know what’s best
