Meet DeAngelo Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to DeAngelo Johnson.

Hi DeAngelo, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has all been a part of my life. Growing up in the country where there were many junk joints (liquor houses) where music would be played.

I started writing and recording music in 9th grade with my best friend. Over the years, we made tons of music. I have just started to take my music a little more serious this year.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely has not been an easy road.

Obviously, the street life presents tons of obstacles. I have been lucky and fortunate to not have been incarcerated for any long period of time. I ended up moving to TN to escape the street life and provide a better life for my kids.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a rapper. I write my own lyrics. I’m known around my neighborhood for freestyling and making songs from a kids. I am most proud of being able to see my kids take interest in music as I did.

What sets me apart is being versatile and being able to adapt. Everyone has their story, I have mine.

What are your plans for the future?
Looking forward to continue to sharpen my skills. Becoming a better artist. Looking forward to making new relationship with yo ok’ing artist as well as established artist.

I have my fist official ep coming out soon looking forward to the release of that.
