Today we’d like to introduce you to Tania Smith.

Hi Tania, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’m a professional musician, energy healer & jewelry designer dedicated to helping people find lasting happiness and well-being while pursuing their dreams, which is why I founded Rainbow Lovina Healing Arts.

I was born in Tasmania, which is a heart-shaped island state at the bottom of Australia, and grew up pursuing MY dream of music as a profession which led me to work with some of Australia’s biggest artists as a session and touring keyboard player and singer.

After finishing a world tour with Kylie Minogue I came to the US to continue working on my own musical projects. I toured with country singer Jamie O’Neal as her musical director for 2 years and have also performed live with Michael McDonald and Willie Nelson, amongst others.

My own pop band SpaceJunky received an international story on CNN for our work in the virtual world of Second Life where we had our own world called SpaceJunky Island – Planet 7 where our friends and fans hung out and we performed. We were also voted the best band in Second Life by a group of music business students at NYU.

I’ve written music for Nintendo & Gameboy as well as recording artists, including a song I wrote with  Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Rafe Van Hoy and Kenny Greenberg called Lesson Of Love which helped Ashley Cleveland win a Grammy in ’95 for Best Rock Gospel Album. The song “Lesson Of Love” was also the album title. I’ve also appeared on TV shows such as David Letterman, Jay Leno, CMT shows, and the CMA awards.

Studying the effects of music in large venues was my introduction to music as energy. Unseen and untouchable, music forms a direct connection to our souls and has the ability to make a profound impact on us. We are very sensitive to sound. One of the reasons I love to perform is music’s ability to inspire and uplift.

I knew from a young age that at some point in my life I would learn more about energetic healing as I could always feel the energy in stones! I started delving into energetic healing practices around the same time I started suffering debilitating migraines that would sometimes last for weeks and land me at the ER. I was determined that these practices could help me heal and I’m happy to now say not only heal but thrive, and I now help others do the same.

After SpaceJunky finished a studio album for Steve Azar, I went to Tibet where I filmed a music video called Temple Of Love, and when I returned I knew I had to go deeper into spiritual practices. I’ve been practicing various forms of energy healing for over 20 years and studied under Spiritual Masters of  Tibetan, Indian, Japanese and Peruvian lineages.

I’m a certified energy healer & meditation teacher, intuitive guide, and shamanic practitioner, & have four certifications in hypnosis. I integrate these modalities into my healing sessions as well as meditation, creative visualization, crystals, and sound therapy through specific music I’ve created for my healing sessions, and have over 18 years of experience with clients.

I’m also a certified Tse Dup Lopon Ma (meaning soul healer and the teacher) in the Tibetan Energy Healing system of Tse Dup Yang Bod and am one of the first practitioners and teachers of this Ancient Tibetan Soul Healing in the US after over 12 years intensive training with Geshe Chongtul Rinpoche. I serve on the Board of Directors for his nonprofit foundation Bon Shen Ling and teach a three-year certification program in Tibetan Soul Healing which certifies participants as Tibetan Soul Healers.

Being in the music business for most of my life I have had the opportunity to study energy in the form of music and how it affects large groups of people, which gives me an edge working with creative people, performers in particular as I understand the unique challenges they face.

I have an active practice in Nashville, primarily in the music and entertainment industry, as well as an international clientele, and I travel the world learning and teaching about higher consciousness in all its forms. My passion is serving and championing others, empowering my clients to live a successful, healthy, and happy life… chasing their dreams, and following their bliss!

I’m also now beginning to release my own music again and have several projects completed that I’m just starting to release. One is a pop album under my own name as well as new music by SpaceJunky, and a new collaboration with award-winning producer Eric Seats who’s produced for Aaliyah, Destiny’s Child, and Missy Elliott amongst others. Our project together will be under the artist name Radiant Galaxy.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I don’t think anyone’s road is ever totally smooth and mine has not been without challenges but I’ve always seen challenges as opportunities. One of my biggest challenges, when I was working with SpaceJunky, was that we lived on three different continents. A bit hard to have a band that way, but we found Second Life as a way to promote our first album which got us an international story on CNN.

I think challenges are there to help us to grow and I have always chosen to seek out creative ways to overcome them. This is what I now do through Rainbow Lovina as a mentor, energy healer, and intuitive guide. As energy healers, we see everything as energy so if something is presented as difficult we apply the teachings of compassion and creativity in order to help create a win/win for everyone. We are always looking at the highest and best for all.

When I work with clients, I’m always helping them to honor where they are in their own process while rising to meet whatever challenges they are working with. Usually, when you look at an issue there seem to be only two different ways of looking at it, ie opposing views, but in taking a broader view of the highest and best for all, you will usually see there are several different ways to approach it.

This is when the magic happens.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As an energy healer, I teach a 3-year certification program in Tibetan Soul Healing. It is an energy practice from Tibet that only became available to us in 2008 and I am one of the first healers and teachers in the USA.

For us to be happy, healthy, and able to manifest our life well in all the different areas, we must have a balanced energy system. Due to stress, trauma, or disease energies become blocked resulting in what the Tibetan culture refers to as soul loss and a decreased life force.

Signs of soul loss are increasing obstacles in every aspect of our life including depression, bad luck, or long-standing illness. This form of energy healing is a very deep system that brings profound healing in all aspects of the physical, mental and emotional, and I really enjoy teaching it and seeing so many here in Nashville become certified healers to help others.

I also do one on one energy healing sessions and intuitive consultations, helping others to become more aware of their energy and how they use it, also helping clients learn to meditate. This is helpful for anyone but really helpful for performers and musicians on tour who sometimes don’t sleep well due to all the travel.

I also have a jewelry company called Crystal Gypsy Designs which I started with old Tibetan amulets and one-of-a-kind pendants from around the world that I make into one-of-a-kind necklaces. I’ve been lucky to travel to many different countries and so my jewelry features pieces from around the world as well as the metaphysical aspects of crystals and gemstones.

And then there is the music. I took a detour from it for quite a while, while I focused on starting Rainbow Lovina but I have a large catalog of songs and music I’ve written so now I’m focusing on releasing it all, so a lot of music will be coming out this year. The first single Temple Of Love came out on Valentine’s Day and the next one is coming in May called Jungleflower which is the first single off my new album under the same name.

Then a SpaceJunky song after that and in August Eric Seats and I will launch our first single under Radiant Galaxy. I’m also working on a meditation course with original music and have just released a meditation album called Mini Meditations under the artist name Crystal Gypsy.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think keeping an open mind is really important. I’ve always followed my heart and it’s taken me to amazing places with incredible people.

My parents encouraged me to follow my dreams when I was very young, and always told me I could achieve anything I wanted to, as long as I worked hard, and treated people well along the way. These are words I’ve tried to live by and I’ve met wonderful people that supported me and gave me great opportunities.

I think staying humble is important and always be grateful for the people who help you. No one does anything by themselves and I appreciate everyone I’ve ever worked with or learned from.
