Conversations with WAIL

Today we’d like to introduce you to WAIL. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Wail’s story begins in 2012, in the city of Pineville, LA, with founding members Julian Austin Box (Guitarist) and Tayvieon Graham aka “R.D.Snake” (Drummer) meeting in grade school and desiring to start a band. While attending Guitar lessons, Julian became friends with Xzavier “OSHA” Price (Lead Vocalist and Guitarist). Early on, the guys realized they needed a name, and “When All Is Lost” won the vote.

While a poster advertising the band was posted at school, some rude students crossed out the band’s name except the first letters, revealing the acronym W.A.I.L. The band began performing at major local events and later got exposure throughout Lousiana and the southwest region.

Early on, The Band had the pleasure of playing various notable venues and events; House of Blues & Howlin Wolf, both in New Orleans, The Machine Shop, in Flint, MI, and festivals such as French Quarter Fest, Winter Fete, River Fete, and South-By-Southwest in Austin, TX,

In 2017, W.A.I.L. decided to relocate to Nashville, TN, where they met fellow musician and drummer Dominic J. Toso (Drummer) during an illegal street performance on the corner of 2nd & Commerce. Tayvieon and Dom later crossed paths again, and as of 2020, began playing as a duo for the band, appropriately dubbed “The Sons of Thunder” for the way they powerfully play as a team.

The Band has found its mojo and is currently in the studio finishing their first EP.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
NO!!!

Through the years, the band has been through a few different members and even had a season when the band broke up before coming back together in 2020.

The band has experienced the ups and down of the industry at a super young age but has found their way back together, and is ready to conquer the world!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
W.A.I.L. is a Rock Band that performs all original music, with influencing styles of Alternative Rock, Nu Metal, Grunge, and occasionally Hip Hop.

Each member of the band is an accomplished musician and producer in their own right. All bringing various perspectives of music to the table. Music Making is their specialty and W.A.I.L. is their platform together.

Making Amazing Music, giving phenomenal energetic shows, and their Smackin’ Ass Drum Duo, “The Sons of Thunder”. They Haven’t killed each other… But seriously, They are most proud of the songs they have written coming on their upcoming EP.

Their incredible way of blending various genres and musical stylings, while remaining authentic Rock! Also, the fact that they have two drummers playing simultaneously in perfect synchronicity.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The qualities that are most important for success include an incredible passion and drive to become the Greatest Rock Band of All Time.

This brand has been inspired by some of the industry’s greatest musicians, and they have set their vision on ascending to the ranks of their inspirations. Other qualities that W.A.I.L. exhibits include keeping musical integrity and remaining true to quality writing and high caliber musicianship.

Additionally, their brotherhood and camaraderie as creatives are an essential qualities fueling this journey towards absolute success.
