Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenzie Williams.
Hi Kenzie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I have been dancing, cheering, and doing gymnastics since age 2. After cheering in college and deciding to focus more on school. I knew I needed to do something to stay active. I started working out and tried everything from HIIT and CrossFit to strength training.
I fell in love with lifting weights and decided to turn that passion into a career. During college, I become a Certified Personal Trainer at a gym in my college town. I attended Tennessee Tech and obtained a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics to not only help people with fitness but nutrition as well.
I am currently studying for my boards to become a registered dietitian and work at a retirement community in Mount Juliet, TN as a personal trainer while building an online coaching business as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Some struggles I faced along the way were falling into the path of disordered eating patterns and obsessing over the gym.
I now teach my clients how to live a balanced lifestyle and incorporate all foods in moderation into their lifestyle.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work as a personal trainer in a retirement community.
I help my clients do anything from a burpee to getting out of a chair every day. I specialize in functional fitness. I’m most proud of being able to help clients move around better daily.
What sets me apart from others is that I have that nutrition background and can help them not only in the gym but in the kitchen as well.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory was cheering on an all-star cheerleading team. I got to meet incredible people and spent my weekends traveling to different places for cheerleading competitions.
