Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Armstrong.
Hi Jasmine, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my modeling career as a hair model when I was a young girl.
I went to John Casablanca school in Brentwood, TN for further schooling once I graduated high school. I stopped for a while to start a family but returned after I had my son. I opened up a Mother talent agency in 2016 so that I could help mold other models by making sure they had the tools and proper information to be successful.
The models would come in ready to take a pretty photo but left with confidence and a new attitude towards beauty and the business of modeling. I have been featured in magazines and countless music videos as a love interest. I have hosted fashion and award shows along with judging competitions. I have put together branding shoots for small businesses. My love for my community landed me gigs with Columbia, TN.
I filmed with my family a local commercial titled For The Love of Columbia. I have built my following through sharing stories of my adventures in nature, dining and entertainment; I am now a Tennessee Ambassador. I have shot two local movies with Angela in the Nashville, TN area. Through modeling, I was able to build my network of artists to perform at my creative mixers.
I have; painters, musicians, songwriters, photographers, and videographers who come to perform and network. I could not have chosen a better career choice that is always changing and evolving. My goal is to be a staple in the entertainment industry that creates experiences that you would want to tell your grandkids about years later.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The struggles have been what I think to be the case for most creatives.
We start with an idea and then the idea gets big and now we have way more on our plate than we expected. I have had to build websites and learn how to ask for help. You run into things that you did prepare for, but it’s needed to further your career or business.
have had to learn marketing and strategic planning along with budgeting and treatment planning. I never thought to build a business resume. I have one now. I have learned so much about running a business in general in the last two years. I had opened up a school in Murfreesboro in 2020 but it closed down due to Covid.
I lost quite a few students. I had to go back to doing one on ones which have worked out for the best. The students have really exceeded my expectations through this method. I now have a marketing team and currently looking for a mentor.
It has been a roller coaster ride but it’s one ride I would rather scream through with my hands up and laugh about it once it all settles down.
