Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Scharfman.
Hi Michelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am a Nashville, Tennessee-based Wedding and Senior photographer. I have been married to my college sweetheart Kevin, for 20 years.
We have 3 amazing daughters Kaylee, Kennedy, and Kyla! I bought my first camera to take pictures of my girls playing sports. I quickly realized I wanted to learn everything I could about photography.
My business developed quickly and has grown far beyond my expectations. I will celebrate 6 years in business this month!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I haven’t had many struggles/obstacles! Learning to manage my work/life balance can be a little tricky because my “busy season” is really busy (Prime time for senior sessions and weddings are in the same 6 months)!
I have quickly learned to block my days off far in advance so I have those days off!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a photographer! I specialize in weddings and high school seniors.
Weddings – I like to think I am known for my wedding experience. I provide a Bridal Guide magazine that helps my couples with all of their planning from their engagement session to their wedding day. I have become very close with most of my past couples and still keep in touch with most of them!
As for style, I am known for my timeless, clean images. Seniors – I am known for helping my seniors plan a session that represents THEM! I provide a style guide and questionnaire to help them plan their session and we choose locations based on the look they are wanting!!
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me when it comes to my work is for my clients to feel special and see the beauty that the rest of the world sees in them.
It’s not just about the photos, it’s about making them feel amazing and to look back and remember their session (wedding or senior session) was a positive memory.
