Meet Frankie Foti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Frankie Foti.

Hi Frankie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Frankie Foti and I’m a 27-year-old professional Magician. I’m originally from Los Angeles, and I moved out to Nashville two years ago. At 15, I met my mentor Dean Dill, who took me under his wing and made me the magician I am today.

Dean was sought after by Magicians like David Copperfield, Criss Angel, and Johnny Carson to teach them new material. When I was 18, I was able to audition and become a part of the Jr Program at the Hollywood Magic Castle because of Dean’s teachings. I honed my skills by performing there for 4 years during the weekend brunch shows in the world-famous Close-Up Gallery.

After realizing that College was not for me, I dropped out at 22 to pursue magic full time. I made my living performing at various residencies, corporate events, and private parties. I was only supposed to come out to Nashville for two months, but then that turned into staying for two years.

I’m currently making a living as a resident Close-Up Magician at House of Cards and performing at Corporate and Private events all over the country.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road to get here. Being a Magician is one of the few jobs you have to say professional in front of for people to take you seriously.

When I just graduated high school, a lot of people were trying to steer me to focus on college and not my Magic Career. I had to deal with the doubts everyone had of me actually making a living in this field.

There’s very rarely consistency in the entertainment industry, but I knew it was life for me. There’s been a lot of ups and downs but I wouldn’t change my job for anything in the world.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in creating custom Close-Up And Stage Magic for any type of event.

One of the shows I’m most proud of was a few years ago when I got hired by the Luxury Car Company McLaren. They hired me to create custom Magic Tricks to match the theme of every new car at their Unveiling Event in Beverly Hills.

The other show that I’m most proud of was getting to open up for my friends Palaye Royale to a sold-out crowd at the Fonda Theatre in LA.

So maybe we end by discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is giving people truly memorable and fun magical experiences.

I love magic because for a couple of minutes people forget about their mortgage, relationship issues, or any of life’s hardships and get to believe that anything is possible.

Even if that feeling only is momentary, I think it’s cool that’s a side effect of my job.
