Inspiring Conversations with Jessica Hampton of Nicole Martin Digital

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Hampton.

Hi Jessica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Teaching has been my passion for years. I love teaching and the students and the relationships I got to build. Due to some family situations, I had to walk away from teaching. I felt lost. How would I help support my family? How would I find something I’m passionate about again? I began looking into work-from-home options, but none of them seemed to spark my interest. Then I began to think about my previous experience in marketing and how I enjoy helping other people; At the same time, it wouldn’t be the students I was helping. I could still help small business owners with their business. I grew up watching my parents run their businesses, so I take great responsibility for helping my clients because I know what it means for them to put their trust in me. I enjoy being able to help others while still doing something I enjoy.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Learning how to manage multiple clients with different expectations has been a challenge. Some clients give me full control of their social media, and some are more hands-on. I have enjoyed learning to meet each business owner where they feel most comfortable. I know that my clients put their heart and soul into their business so for them to trust me to help them grow is a big responsibility that I don’t take lightly. Also, learning how the algorithms and social media platforms are constantly changing keeps me on my toes.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Nicole Martin Digital is a social media marketing agency that specializes in helping small business owners grow and remain relevant on social media platforms. Jessica runs Nicole Martin, and I handle everything in-house. Unlike other agencies who may outsource or sell their accounts, I handle everything from onboarding to content creation to ad creation. I like working closely with my clients to ensure that I know everything that’s going on is meeting their expectations. I believe along with my education and experience in the business world, and I learned a lot about expectations and relationships throughout my teaching career. That helps me every day while running my own business. I am proud of myself for believing that I could start something and become successful with it. I want readers to know that my goal is always to take care of my clients and ensure they are happy with their service.

What matters most to you?
It may sound cliché, but my family is what matters most to me. I am a wife and a mother, and starting my own business has allowed me to give them the best version of myself. Nicole Martin also matters to me. This is something I started and run all on my own, and I take pride in making sure that I am successful. My family supports me, and making them proud is what matters to me.
