Check Out Austin Lane’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Lane.

Hi Austin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I grew up in a musical family. I used to go watch my Dad play Bluegrass and sing in Gospel groups all through my childhood. I was 10 years old when I asked for my first instrument, which was a set of drums. I picked up guitar around the age of 13 and never set it back down.

I’ve played in countless bands ranging from Metal, and Christian Rock, to Country music. I’ll never forget the feeling I had when I wrote my first country song and sang it to a group of friends at a party. It was that feeling that has driven me to be better and better. I now have 2 EPs that I’ve released and I’m also working on a 3rd.

Going to Nashville was the best thing I could have done. I’ve made lots of friends and met a lot of great people. My most recent trip was probably my favorite to date. I got to play Whisky Jam for the first time, wrote 2 awesome songs, got to play Bus Call, and played Country Connected writers round.

As of right now, I’m getting ready to record my newest single and record a music video for the release. So be on the lookout!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have a line in one of my songs “Among the Rest” that says, “They say the road gets long and times get tough.” One of the truest lines I have ever written.

There have been times when I’ve thought about giving up and just living a normal life, but then I realize that I would never forgive myself if I didn’t try. The biggest struggles are usually the same as most. “Am I good enough?” “Am I wasting my time?” “Am I wasting all this money?” etc.

They always say, “the good things in life don’t come easy.” I’m just going to keep pushing until I make something happen.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, artist, and producer, I love to sit down at my home studio and write. I write differently than most. I’ll come up with a little riff, whether it be on guitar or keys, and I’ll just write around it. I’ll listen to it 100 times to see what kind of vibes I’m getting before I write lyrics for it.

I’m most proud of my ability to have a vision and see it through to the end. Whether that is a song I’m writing or a song that I am producing for another artist. It is a great feeling when you have someone come to you with a song and you are both happy with the results.

I think two things that separate me from most people are my drive and my sound. I eat, sleep, and breathe music. I believe I have an original sound that shows in my writing. I have many influences from all over the music spectrum that come out while composing songs.

We’d love to hear what you think about risk-taking?
I would consider myself a risk-taker. I invest a lot of time and money into something that has no guaranteed payback. I believe anyone that is chasing this neon dream is a risk taker. Some are just a little more than others.

Our family loves Austin Lane!! Austin’s family has so much talent in it. His mother Ann Lane plays piano and sings like an angel, Alan, (his dad) sings as well, and plays so many instruments including the ‘black’ keys only on the piano, the dobro, guitar, etc…and his younger brother Aaron sings, plays guitar, etc…!! This family is just full of talent. Austin Lane couldn’t help but be a lover of music. We are very proud of Austin and pray he makes the BIG TIME in entertainment and we believe he is genuine in setting his goals!!
