Conversations with Brandon Fant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Fant.

Brandon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story began in Birmingham, Al. I purchased my first camera using a tax return and started my photography and video creation journey. At the time, I was part of a promotion team that contracted artists to perform on the music scene of Birmingham. I used my camera to create promotional videos and help sell tickets. Eventually, I moved to Atlanta and took a job as a Highschool photographer & studio manager. That job helped me hone my skills while working in the city as a new professional photographer in Atlanta. After many years I moved to Nashville, where I pursued art sales, business content creation, and teaching photography.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has not always been so smooth or so clear. Some struggles along the way have been finding a mentor who can take time to mentor and teach the craft, making time for personal projects and self-evaluation, and purchasing the equipment needed to keep up with client demands.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been blessed to travel and see different places in the world. Instead of letting those memories disappear on my hard drive, I have taken those photos and created unique art prints for collectors. I am very proud of the results of each piece, and it always excites me to see others enjoy my creations. I also enjoy being able to teach the art form of photography to willing participants. My ability to communicate and break down how I view the craft sets me apart from other photographers.

What are your plans for the future?
Some plans I have for the future consist of one day having a studio/ selfie room where I can teach and host different photographers to help teach other enthusiasts in the art.
