Conversations with Holly Halcomb of The Springs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Holly Halcomb.

Hi Holly, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
We both grew up in Alabama. I (Holly) am from a town just a little north of Huntsville, AL called New Market, and Stewart is from Enterprise, AL.

We both moved to Nashville in 2010 and met the following January in 2011 at The Bluebird Cafe while playing a writer’s round.

We soon joined forces about 3 years after we had been dating and became a duo. We were married in 2015 and just had our first child, a son, named Charlie.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t necessarily say smooth ha-ha. There have definitely been bumps and many struggles along the way. The music business is a tough one.

You really have to love it to stay in the game. There are so many talented folks in this industry, so I think one of the struggles for us is just being able to stand out, be different and just try to get our music heard in an industry that is so full of talent.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a husband-and-wife duo based in Nashville, TN. We sing country music. We write all of our own songs. I’d say we are known for our love for each other as a couple and our family-friendly music that we release!

I’d say at this point in our life we are most proud of the songs we’ve written, our son Charlie and the life we have been able to live by doing what we love with each other, and that’s being able to write and play music.

Writing and singing songs that we have lived or are living out; we believe is what makes us different. Also, what you see is what you get. We have always been taught to remember where you come from, and we have always carried that with us wherever we go.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
Our faith. I believe it’s the simple fact of knowing God has blessed Holly and I with a voice, the ability to write and sing songs that we love and truly believe in…and that fans love and appreciate.
