Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Welser.
Hi Sherri, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Creativity has always been in my soul along with art and music.
On a trip to Nashville 4 years ago, I noticed a guitar in one of the shops all embellished with rhinestones, belts, and misc jewelry.
I loved the idea of combining both my love of art and music together in a creative vibe. Upon returning home I started to gather old vintage metal pieces and advertising, vintage jewelry, stained glass, glass tiles just anything I thought would be fun and funky!
I then turned to my love of vintage motorcycles and incorporated Harley Davidson and Indian Motorcycle parts and advertising into my designs. All art guitars are one of a kind and custom-made to suit the customer as well.
It’s truly a passion to create these and I feel very blessed to be able to do what I love and offer some visual joy to others through my work!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you do what you love you don’t see the struggles but yes trying to get yourself out in the public eye is always a struggle. By far though my best-selling art guitar is the Harley Davidsons!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a nationally published artist in both mixed media and jewelry design.
I have been published many times over the past 10 years in magazines such as Belle Armoire Jewelry, Bead Trends, Jewelry Affaire, Somerset Studio, Apprentice, and Mingle to name a few.
I also have offered art workshops in the local breweries in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Asheville NC, and Greenville. Teaching is where I also love to be helping others learn new techniques as it is a joy to “Aspire to Inspire!”
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a “social butterfly”. I love people so I was always involved in social activities, cheerleading, gymnastics, and of course being creative!
