Exploring Life & Business with Amia’ Butler of Push Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amia’ Butler.

Hi Amia’, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have heard people say that “your purpose always finds you”, but I believe most times your purpose is something that you have been doing all along in one capacity or another. For as long as I can remember I have always loved people and not only that, but I have always loved encouraging people. I did not really grasp the fullness of my gift of encouragement and natural way with people until I began college at Austin Peay State University. People would always say “Amia’ has never met a stranger” and “Amia’ knows how to push you to accomplish something.” I did not know it then, but my mind kept record of every time someone told me that. It was not until after I obtained my Master’s degree in Marketing Communications did I think that my love for marketing, people, and encouragement could somehow work together.

One day, me and two other friends met up for dinner and started to brainstorm different businesses we could start. This turned into me pointing out specific skills and passions in them and providing strategy on how to turn those skills into a business. By the end of our dinner both of my friends vocalized how they now felt confident and ready to dive into their entrepreneurial journey with the advice that I gave them. As we were about to leave one of my friends said, “You know what Amia’ you are a people pusher. You push people to recognize and go after their passions.” And that was the first ray of light to what is now Push Consulting.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has certainly not been smooth. I do not believe any entrepreneur’s journey is. I have felt like giving up, questioned why I even started at all and struggled with imposter syndrome. What has gotten me through all of that is my solid belief that God place this business on my heart to help other women develop what God placed on their hearts to do. Every entry level entrepreneur that I have had the opportunity to help reminds me that I am on the right path. Most businesses fail because someone simply gives up and feels like there is no reason to continue. Since my business is built on genuine connections with my clients and an authentic eagerness to help the succeed… giving up is not an option.

As you know, we’re big fans of Push Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We PUSH entry level womenprenuers to identify their audience and execute our strategies to confidently show up on social media and generate leads. We are known for our shame free approach for women who may only have an idea for a business or women who are just starting in entrepreneurship and have no idea how to use social media to elevate their business, We are most proud of helping women recognize their brilliance and show up confidently as the experts they are on social media.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
My heart beats Nashville. I grew up in East Nashville, before it was the east Nashville that you know today. I think what I love most about Nashville is the creative community. I believe that Nashville has some of the most talented people in the world. What I like least about Nashville is the ever-rising cost of living and the lack of affordable housing.
