Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Ragsdale.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
In 2022, I became a notary purely out of curiosity, without realizing it would eventually grow into a true career path. At the time, I was working full-time and viewed notary work as a small side interest. However, I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed the work and the connections it allowed me to make.
By 2024, that initial curiosity led me to become a certified Loan Signing Agent which is a specialized notary role focused on loan documentation. I completed the required training and earned certifications through three separate programs.
In 2025, I made the decision to take the next step and launch my own business. That brings me to where I am today, building and growing a service, I genuinely love.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The path hasn’t been entirely smooth. Training to become a Loan Signing Agent is extensive and requires a strong understanding of both loan documents and the laws that govern them. The cost of training and startup can also be significant. In the beginning, finding consistent work is challenging because you’re building your reputation from the ground up while competing with established notaries in the field.
As you know, we’re big fans of Jared-Mart Notary Services, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’d love for people to know that my notary business was built from genuine curiosity that grew into something I truly enjoy. I specialize in general notarizations, loan signings, fingerprinting, and apostille work; I’m certified through multiple programs. What I’m known for is being reliable, patient, and detail oriented. I don’t just stamp documents; I make sure clients feel comfortable and confident throughout the entire process.
What sets me apart is the care I put into every appointment. My years in healthcare taught me the importance of accuracy, professionalism, and compassion, and I carry those values into my work every day. I’m proud that my brand reflects trust and integrity, and that I’ve built it from the ground up through hard work and dedication.
Most of all, I want people to know that my services are meant to make their lives easier, simple, stress-free, and handled with care. Whether it’s a loan closing or a quick notarization, my goal is to provide a smooth and supportive experience from start to finish.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Anyone interested in becoming a notary needs to truly understand and respect the role. By law, notaries are officers of the state, which means you serve as a public official responsible for verifying identities and protecting individuals from fraud or exploitation. Training is incredibly important which is far more important than many people realize. While the state doesn’t require formal education, it’s essential to seek out proper training on your own and stay up to date with changing laws.
In the beginning, you won’t be highly profitable, and honestly, the role isn’t designed to be driven purely by profit. It’s a position rooted in service, integrity, and safeguarding the public, and anyone pursuing it should approach it with that mindset.
