Exploring Life & Business with Lillyce Harriel of Renew-U 360

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lillyce Harriel.

Hi Lillyce, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My entrepreneur journey started a few decades before the opening of Renew-u 360. I grew up in St. Louis, MO, my father is a Jamaican immigrant, and my mother was born and raised in St. Louis. My childhood business ventures were my introduction to making income on my own terms. I had my first lemonade stand at 5 and sold snacks to classmates in high school as we transitioned from classes. From a young age, it was instilled in me to take my education seriously so that I could get a “good job with a good company”. I did just that, I went to college, and graduated with a B.S. in Finance and I worked very hard. I have worked for some the best companies (Northrup Grumman, Nissan North America, Google Fiber) and I still felt like I was accomplishing nothing.

During this time, my fathers’ health started to decline. After he was overmedicated and had a series of strokes, I decided that I wanted to do deeper research on holistic health solutions. My research started with infrared saunas and their benefits. Once I started regularly sitting in the sauna I was hooked.

A year later, I was introduced to “Molecular Hydrogen Water”. I actually began drinking the water first, and the taste and way it made me feel was the catalyst to start researching the benefits of this “magic water”. This is where the entrepreneur wheels started turning. I decided that I wanted to share what I had been learning about holistic health with other people. I wanted to provide alternative wellness options that didn’t feel exclusive or unattainable. I wanted these options to be inclusive and available to everyone in my community. After 3 years of research and planning, I opened RENEW-U 360.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
To be honest the biggest obstacle has been remaining “open” in the midst of this pandemic. Opening a small business has its set of hurdles, but doing so in times like these has made it even harder for “us” small businesses to survive. We signed our lease in February 2020 and the COVID-19 shelter in place order hit in March. A build out that should have taken 4 weeks, ended up taking 4 months, while the cost of supplies sky rocketed. We weren’t able to open up until July 6th, but were paying rent, utilities, and rental fees for all of the equipment the entire time. Along with PRAYER and devising alternative ways of marketing that included, not only social media, but also in person door to door communication, and collaborations we’ve been able to keep our doors open.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Renew-U 360?
The premise behind RENEW-U 360 is easy affordable self-care. All four services that we offer were picked because they rejuvenate the entire body: especially the water. There is nothing more basic than good drinking water. Hydrogen Infused Alkalized water is absorbed at a cellular level, it is antioxidant rich, and thoroughly healing. Something as simple as changing the water that you drink can impact everything from your quality of sleep to regulating your digestion. Our other 3 services: The Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna, Dry Heated Salt Bed Therapy, and Full Body Red Light Therapy all help to boost the immune system, increase energy levels, decrease stress/anxiety, and detox the body in as little as 20 minutes.
